The proposal was the most sweetest ever!!!I knew my fiancé had wanted to propose
and I just didn't know when it would happen....even though I did know it would
happen sooner than later. The night of the proposal we had both worked our
long days at work and it must have been around 8pm on a semi-rainy night in
Washington, D.C. I was sooo tired from work and he kept insisting we should
grab coffee or walk around Georgetown. I thought he was just being silly because
it was damp out and all I really wanted to do was go home and lounge a bit before
bed. Anywhoo he convinced me and we grabbed a coffee (iced) and we walked down to
Georgetown waterfront . We stopped for a bit at the end of the boardwalk and looked
at the view toward the bright light of DC and Arlington and were just taking in the fresh
night air. He was slightly behind me and I honestly thought he was tying his show
because I felt him a bit beside me and when I turned around he was on one knee and
I was shocked. I said to myself "he's finally doing it.....tonight"!!!! As soon
as he asked me to marry him, the rain poured down on both of us. It was the perfect
romantic movie moment. I said "I would marry you ten times over" and he got up
and he kissed me.

After work I headed home for what I thought was a party for my
grandparents wedding anniversary on leap day. All night my boyfriend
kept his distance and I thought nothing of it because I was sick
with the flu and couldn't wait for everyone to leave so I could get
back in bed. After my grandparents cut their cake I realized we were
surrounded by our friends and family with everyone looking at us
from both sides of the family. He looked at me and said "Can I talk
to you?" After starring at him for what felt like forever I covered
my face and realized what was happening. He pulled out a beautiful ring,
the one I had always wanted, and asked me to take the next step with him.
I was still speechless and now crying and the family finally came clean that
both sides had been planning this night for almost six weeks. My mom had ordered
personalized M & M's for the night and we all had a great time, me still
starring at my ring, which I have not stopped looking at since.

Kirby and I went to disney world right before Christmas for vacation. While we
were waiting to watch the show with Cinderella they made an announcement that
Cinderella would not be able to make it for the show and someone out of the
audiance would have to fill in. Then they called my name to come up on the
stage. Being the big kid at heart that I am I was extremely excited. They
dressed me up and sent me out on stage for a smaller production where I really
had a small part, but still it was so much fun. At the end of the show prince
charming was supposed to come and find me to fit me with my glass slipper. When
he came out it was my fiancé dressed like prince charming. As he got down on one
knee in front of everyone I noticed the ring box inside the glass slipper. I said
a really sweet speech about how much he loves me and how I am his princess and
then asked me to marry him right there in front of everyone. I was so shocked that
for once in my life I was speechless. It was the perfect proposal and I had my
fairytail ending to one chapter in our life and wonderful beginning to the next.
I just love him soooo much!

The way he proposed was the most romantic thing ever!!! He wrote date on the calender
and told me it was a surprise where we were going for dinner. After he picked me up
we went to dinner at a super romantic fondue restaurant. I hadn't noticed him checking
his watch but when it came time for dessert he asked if it would be okay that we skipped
it that we had other plans. I said sure, I was certain we were going to the comedy
club downtown when we pulled up at the indoor ice skating rink that used to be a train
depot. I was sure they were closed he assured me they were open. We went in and were
the only two in the place, he tied my skates and we skated for a bit. He then pulled me
center ice and proposed! I cried and said yes of course! After a couple minutes of
both of us crying and kissing he said there was another surprise, he turned me around
and both sets of our parents were there. They had been in the adjacent hotel bar
having a cocktail and talking. The tears started all over again, we all then sat down
at a candlelit table and had champagne and celebrated. Now we are busy planning our
wedding.

My favorite story is our proposal story. We were in Newport Beach, CA for Spring Break
in March of this year. We went whale watching early Sunday morning then we were meeting
up with my cousins for lunch at the Beachcomber. We got to the restaurant and my cousin
said it would be a two hour wait so he suggested we go walk down the beach. We walked a
little while and my boyfriend stopped at this pile of rocks and said "Look! It's a note
in a bottle!" I was not suspicious of a proposal AT ALL so I was so excited to see a
note in a bottle! He opened it and had typed me a letter telling me how much he loved
and cared for me and at the end got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! It was
so romantic because the weather was perfect and everything was perfect!

I proposed to Faith one day before our one year anniversary November 25, 2007. I had
been asking her who she wanted and what she wanted to happen when she was proposed to.
She said things like wanting her immediate family being there along with her best
friends Janaya and Angel. I could not think of any way to get all these people together
without her knowing. So, I did it at church. I began to create this intricate plan
three months before I proposed. The first thing I did was instruct her two best
friends to talk her into having a "girl's night out" weekend which would culminate
in them coming to church with her on Sunday. Once the ball started rolling I created
this award to give her in honor of her service with the youth in our church. Sunday
came and as we approached the end of service I made my way to the front of the church
to make the "announcement" of this award that I made and of course the whole church
begins to take pictures. Faith has no idea why they are taking these pictures. I
then signal to one of the youth to bring her flowers from the side entrance so that
she can turn away from me. Once she received the flowers and began to turn back
towards me I was already on one knee and the tears began to flow from there. She
was so shocked and excited she began jumping up and down right in front of the church!!
I love her like none other!!!!

Drew and I were elementary school sweethearts. We started dating back in the sixth grade
after much persistence on my part. We stayed together all through middle school, high
school, and college. Eleven years after we started dating, Drew asked me to marry him
in the most romantic way possible! When we had started dating in the sixth grade, I had
wrote him a note asking him out. Coincidently, I now teach in the sixth grade at the same
school Drew and I went to. Every Friday morning, we have a staff meeting at my school
in the cafeteria. On February 15, 2008, the principal of my school read the letter that
I had written Drew eleven years ago out loud to the entire school staff (he saved it for
eleven years!). Drew (who was hiding in the back the entire meeting) then came out and
said, "This is the place where you first asked me out, and I want this to be the same
place that I ask you to marry me." After a lot of tears and disbelief, I said YES!
This is by far the most romantic way that I could ever imaging Drew proposing to me.
In the same place we started dating eleven years ago, and in front of over 150 staff
members at my school!

The proposal took place Wednesday, February 13, 2008, on Valentine's eve. I
received a phone call from Chris at about 4:15 p.m. when I was still at school.
He asked me to call him when I was on my way home. A little odd,I thought,
but figured he probably wanted me to stop at the store to pick something up.
When I called him back he sounded tired and a little stressed, but had no real
purpose for me to call him. I figured he just wanted to say hi, being the sweet
guy he is, and that he was stressed over his action research paper. I came home
from school just like every Wednesday--tired and relieved to have nothing going
on that night. No school, no cheer, no graduate work. I loved Wednesdays. I took
off my snow boots in the garage, opened the door, and was stunned to see a red
rose petal trail winding through the kitchen, down the hall, and into our bedroom.
I followed the petals and found Chris standing in the bedroom waiting nervously,
looking handsome in his suit. On the bed "will you marry me?" was spelled out in
rose petals on the white duvet. I later learned this creation took three attempts
to perfect because Calvin, our kitty, kept jumping up on the bed, messing it up.
I walked in stunned and speechless. Chris got down on his knee and uttered out
"Kristin, I love you. Will you marry me?" I was amazed and thrilled as he presented
me with the ring, and of course I said yes. Later, after he had lost his nerves and
could breathe again, Chris explained to me the speech he had prepared but was too
nervous to recite--about our first home being our foundation and where we will
start our lives and family together. The proposal was private and in a significant
place that we have worked hard to achieve together.

The day D'Lorian asked me to marry him he started in his story of how he first
saw me. Telling me how much he had a crush on me. Seeing me from afar and never
knowing my name. D'Lorian told two of his friends how he saw me and made them
tell him who I was. It took two years before he finally got up the nerve to come
up to me and finally talk to me. Then he went to how much it meant to him that I
agreed to be with him just to date. And now that we'd been together for so long
he looked me in the eye and asked me to marry him. Two months later we were in
the jewlery store picking out my engagement ring and as we picked out the perfect
one he got down on his knee and put it on my finger. Got up looked at me told me
how much he loved me and gave me the best kiss he'd ever given me right in front
of the sales lady. Besides it being a little bit embarressing it was the best day
of my life.

My name is Amanda and my wonderful fiancé's name is Robert. We
became engaged on October 5, 2007. We plan to be married in
February 2008. Here is our engagement story. Robert and I had been dating a
year and half when he proposed. We already knew that we were going to get
married and I knew he'd been planning a little. What I did not know was how
wonderful and creative he is. I had always told Robert that I was more excited
by the proposal than the ring or the money. I wanted to have a great story.
And, wow, did he ever beat my wildest dreams. Our proposal began Friday October
5, 2007 at 5am when Robert tried to wake me to go on a crazy surprise road trip
with him; I told him to go away. I am not a morning person. Eventually he got
me to agree unhappily and we set off in the car. After five hours, we arrived
at a boat dock in Thousand Islands, NY. We took a ferry and across the St.
Lawrence River to Boldt Castle on Heart Island. This was not unusual for us
because we have quite frequently taken road trips to random places and had visited
castles before because I love castles. That previous year for Valentine's Day
Robert had taken to the Biltmore Estate which is quite close to a castle. So
at this point I had no idea the proposal was coming; I just assumed we were on
a very cool date. Well, there we took tons of pictures and I thought that was
it and we were going home. But we were not rushing to go home; instead there
was a surprise stop #2. So we go back to the boat dock and Robert ran to the
car to get some pre-packed duffel bags. I kept asking him questions about why
we have bags and where we were going. A man came up and said hello to Robert
by name. I found them very odd. He led us to a private yacht which we boarded.
I was getting nervous now because I had no idea where we going yet again.
After almost an hour we began approaching Singer Castle on Dark Island. As we
got closer though, I saw a sign on the side of the entrance that read "closed for
today". It was then I started putting pieces together and realized we had
brought bags because we were staying there. Robert had rented the entire castle
and its island for the night for us. We were then taken to the "Royal Suite".
We had a few minutes to get relaxed and get ready for a tour and dinner. Since
the castle was literally ours for the day we had a three hour tour in places
guests can never usually dream to go. We got to sit in chairs hundreds of years
old and go in secret passage ways. We were treated like a king and queen for
the day. It was beyond amazing. Then we went upstairs to wait for dinner.
Robert and I got dressed up slightly, however we looked horrible because Robert
forgot, in his hurry and nervousness, to pack some of my clothes and his shoes!
But we made do and ate a fancy dinner in one of the grand dining rooms.
Then we were supposed to take pictures in the various rooms of the castle and do
our own touring. But when I went upstairs to change my shoes, I noticed that
there was an extra door in our suite, which I had previously thought was a closet,
was slightly opened. Robert was trying to get me to take a picture with him in
front of the door and nonchalantly turn on the video recording. However, I ran
over to see what was in it before he had a chance to set it up and found that it
was another bedroom. The room was covered with flowers, one thousand yellow and
pink daisies. This had special meaning to me because in my favorite episode of
Gilmore Girls, Max proposed to Lorelai with a thousand yellow daisies. At this
point I knew, and Robert got down on one knee and told me how much he loved me
and asked me to marry him. I accepted and then we proceeded to call everyone.
We were so busy calling people we never took pictures till the next day. In
the morning we took tons of pictures to remember our castle experience, ate
breakfast in the dining hall, and went home where my family had a surprise
engagement party waiting for us. It was the perfect proposal.

During the beginning of 2006 after Jon and Marissa's wedding, I decided
that I was definitely proposing to Jackie. Weddings have that affect on
people. After discussing "several" proposal ideas with my co-workers, I
realized that I should have a ring first to set things in motion. On a
June afternoon I headed over to Robbin's Bros. Pam the associate was very
helpful and I already knew what I had in mind. Literally hours later after
the ring selection, sizing, engraving, and solitaire was settled not to
mention the payment. I found myself returning a week later picking up what
would later signify my commitment and love for Jackie. The Blessing. Now that
I knew it was going to happen, first thing was first. At this point only my
co-workers knew what I was up to. Eventually I hinted to some people, but
left the idea up in the air. Before my parents left to the Philippines for
vacation I let them know what my plan was. They said it was fine and my mom
was excited. One set of parents down one more pair to go. I forget exactly
when, but I was extremely nervous. One night at the Jingco residence, I had
Jackie's cousin Cathy take her and Roxan out to coffee. Cathy knew what I was
up to so I owe this to her. While they were out for Starbucks, I manned up and
asked Auntie if she could wake Uncle up from a nap, because I needed to ask
them an important question. Ernesto and Allison were at the house and everyone
was confused as to what was going on. I have to admit it was akward, but I took
them into their now bedroom which was under construction at the time. In there,
I jumped straight to the point and asked for their blessing to marry their
daughter. At first, they were surprised and Uncle still yawning =), but they
agreed. Auntie was concerned when the wedding would be held, since my brother
was going to be married the following year, I mentioned not until 2008. She said
that she knew our relationship was good and was very supportive. As long as we
were able to support ourselves and our future, they would be fine with
everything. Wiping the sweat from my hand, I thanked them both and gave them hugs.
Moments later coffee arrived and my hot chocolate, a simple nod to Cathy and
everything was cool. Now, how should I ask her?....August 19, 2006The Graduation -
7:00 pm. Little did Jackie know that I had left work early to prepare what the night
held for us. I had been planning for almost two months at this point and it was
going to all come together. I picked up some roses and rushed home. Gave myself
a haircut and prepped my brother what to expect for the night. My parents were
vacationing in the Philippines and I needed all the help I can get. Lucky for
me Rodel, Rachelle, and Arlene were available. I had left the house to head to
Rancho Del Rey Middle School where the graduation was being held. 10 minutes
late, I was scrambling for parking, eventually I drove away from the lots and
into the nearby neighborhoods. I pulled in front of a house and the owner was
standing in his driveway. I politely asked if I can park my car here and he
replied, "no problem." I thanked him and jogged away in my suit and shouted
that I was proposing to my girlfriend tonight! He laughed, congratulated me,
and said, "good luck!" In the crowded auditorium I spotted the rest of Jackie's
family, I thanked them for saving me a seat. After a couple of photos from the
audience, speeches from Pima faculty and students, it was time for Jackie's
Respiratory Therapist class. Names were read and cheers were given. Then, we
heard her name called and we whooed, applauded, and I screamed, "oh
sexy back!" as she walked off the stage. At the end of the ceremony, we gathered
outside where we shared hugs and group photos. Jackie was wondering what the
plan was afterwards and I said I didn't know, winking at everyone else. Then
Uncle Frank mentioned to go to Hometown Buffet for dinner. At first, I wasn't
sure if he was serious, but when I turned towards him he sneaked a smile back.
At that point, I knew I can play along. So, we said that those plans were fine
and we can meet at the one located in Southside near the AMC. We split up and
went our separate ways. I kept apologizing to Jackie about how far I parked,
but she said she didn't mind walking. In the car, I just realized that I needed
to give everyone time to head to my house and find parking, so I told Jackie
that she would have to keep her eyes closed as we took a trip. I drove around
in circles and found myself on Main St. heading towards the 805 as if I was
really going to Hometown. Simultaneously, I was secretly texting Rodel to
ensure that everyone was there and ready. To kill even more time, I pulled
into the Shell gas station and filled up my tank. Once I had the go ahead, it
was time to head back home. The Surprise - 9:15 pm. Not telling Jackie that we
were en route to the house, I encouraged her to keep her eyes closed and
exclaimed that we were "almost there." When we got to my neighborhood I circled
the block a couple of times and eventually pulled into the driveway where my
brother had saved my spot. Still with her eyes closed, I walked her though the
grassy part of the sidewalk trying to throw her off on the location. We headed
up the walkway where I took my time to get to the front door. For some weird
reason, the porch lights were flickering on and off. At the entrance, I slowly
opened the door to a dark living room. At that same time I told Jackie to open
her eyes-the lights turned on and she was greeted by family and friends with a
huge, "Surprise!" The Question - 9:30 pm. My pockets were empty and the contents
were hidden up high on a shelf in my room. As a distraction, I signaled for
everyone to greet and hug Jackie. I walked over to David who was taping at the
moment, said what's up, and asked for the wireless lavalier mic. I signaled
Rodel to keep Jackie distracted and they constantly congratulated her. I mic'd
myself up and grabbed the little marble blue box with the initials "RB" engraved
and told myself this is it. Took a deep breath and headed back to the crowd. I
led Jackie by my side where I personally thanked everyone for coming to celebrate
the joyous occasion. I also mentioned that we're celebrating many other events,
such as the birth of Jon and Marissa's first son, Nathan, Uncle Frank and Auntie
Precy's Anniversary, Irish's leave to Wisconsin, and if Tommy D. was around his
birthday as well. Once the applause for the other celebrants died down, I mentioned
that the party wasn't just a surprise for Jackie, but I had a surprise for everyone
and that we had "one more thing" to celebrate. At this point I turned towards Jackie
looked her in the eyes and began..."I told her that we've been through so much and
how proud we all are of her as we're surrounded by loved ones. I mentioned that we
had grown together and she has taught me a lot, including temper control.
Chokingly, I said that I wanted to learn more from her for the rest of my life.
So, I took a knee reached into my right coat pocket and asked, "will you marry me?"
A very stunned Jackie and a quiet yes prompted my
unsteady hand to place the ring on her finger. I hugged and kissed her and told
her that I loved her. The Party - 9:45 pm. After a brief applause, I directed
everyone's attention to the "Congratulations Jackie" graduation banner that
hung on the loft's banister. I repeated that we all had a lot to celebrate
tonight, but now we can celebrate...

My story would have to be how we met. I was on my way home to Atlanta, GA
from a weeklong visit in my hometown of Waynesboro, Virginia. He was working
in Virginia and on his way home for the weekend to Monterey, Tennessee. We
got stuck in a traffic jam together. He was behind me and took notice, I
had already noticed him. We flirted for about 2 hours, and finally, he
slapped his phone number up on the window. I dialed it immediately, and
we've been inseperable ever since!

I received an invitation in the mail for an Easter celebration at the camp
Ryan works at (and where we met) but there was no RSVP so I asked Ryan if he
was going, explaining that if it was on Sunday I couldn't go because I was
celebrating Easter with my family. He was shocked and said, "No, it's on
Saturday." So it was and I arrived that Saturday expecting a dinner with our
fellow staff. Instead, there was a table set for two in the dining room and
one of our friends was waitressing. I asked her who planned this celebration
and if she knew who else would be coming, but she gave non-commital answers
and I realized that Ryan had planned it all. Ryan explained that we had had a
long, difficult year so far and he thought we needed a special time just for
ourselves. Since he does sweet things like this occasionally, I thought nothing
more of it. Our friend's husband prepared a full 7-course meal (he's a trained
cordon bleu chef for the camp) and as Jen brought in the dessert she explained
that they had decided to make two different desserts, a chocolate cake and pana
cotta with raspberry sauce. I noticed as she put the cake down in front of me
it bobbled on the plate. When she left I touched the cake and lifted it up. It
was a silicon cake pan turned upside down and decorated and underneath it was a
box. I opened up the box and there was a ring. I looked back at Ryan and he asked
if I would marry him. It was a perfect evening and proposal!

Once upon the Sweetest Day at the exclusive Sky Top Resort in the Pocono
Mountains, Matt had schemed a plan. He told me that his family was going to
celebrate his Aunt Mary's birthday at their Sky Top home. I packed my things
and was driven there by Matt's parents. As we arrived to Sky Top, Uncle Brian
greeted us, and said everyone else was coming up in the morning. I fell asleep
on the couch, as Matt anxiously paced and knew that I had no clue what I was
in store for. The next morning, everyone got up and showered. Matt and I had
a hayride picnic (which we go on every time we visit) booked for 12:15. As
we waited for the hayride we walked the property taking pictures. We squeezed
onto the hayride and rode down to the lakeside picnic area where we ate lunch.
After we were finished, Matt looked at me and said, "I have a question for you."
Now since Matt always had a question, I replied, "What?" As I looked at him for
his question, I noticed that he was fumbling for a blue pouch out of his pocket.
He looked at me and said, "Will you Marry Me?" I said "WHAT" "Will you
marry me??" Then I repeatedly said "Oh My God, ARE YOU SERIOUS?" Matt again
said, "YES! Will you marry me?" I of course said YES!! I was completely
shocked and shaking. People at the table next to us were watching, and
asked if we just got engaged. I said yes and started crying. They took
pictures for us. I then asked Matt if anyone knew. He said no- His mom
knew he bought the ring, but didn't know when he was going to do it. I was
so excited! I tried calling my mom, and then my sister, my dad and no one
answered their phones. I asked Matt if they were here. He swore they
weren't. As we got back to the lodge, Matt wanted to go tell his parents.
I insisted that I stay outside until I tell my mom. After many repeated phone
calls, my mom finally answered her phone. I asked where she was. She said turn
around. I didn't quite get it. She then said again turn around and banged on the
glass door. I was hysterically crying. To my surprise waiting inside for us with
champagne was my mom, dad, sister, brother-in-law, aunt, uncle, cousins, Matt's
parents, grandmother, aunts, and uncles. It was the most perfect day ever! We
walked around taking pictures with the fall foliage behind us. Matt's brother
and his girlfriend later came to help us celebrate. Later, I was also surprised
to a special private dinner party held at the lodge. We spent the weekend enjoying
the beautiful scenic Sky Top Resort with our families.

We met when we both had motorcycles and instantly felt an attraction towards
one another. We have been there for each other numerous amounts of times for
various reasons. I am in Nursing school and am expected to graduate in August
of 2009. The Nursing school recently got extremely difficult and time consuming
and I needed to quit my job to focus on school so that I could excel. He,
without hesitation, said he would pay my credit cards and gas while my parents
paid my car and insurance. He has done so much for me the past 2 years that we
have been dating. The wedding is next sept and we have our hall and rings. My
family is extremely awesome and have done so much for us both. My family
considers him family and I cannot wait until its official! I love him with all
my heart and can't think of any other person I would rather spend my life
with. :)

My absolute favorite story is how Brad proposed. We were in Ireland with my
mom and family-friends. Our tour stopped at the Cliffs of Moher, described as
700+ ft. dropoffs over the Atlantic Ocean. It's beautiful! You can stand there
for hours just staring at the water, cliffs, rocks, etc. So we walked up one
side of the edge with everyone from our tour. I didn't think anything of it.
Brad seemed to be in a hurry, now looking back, but nothing out of the ordinary.
Kodak moments left and right! I was taking so many pictures! Then Brad kinda
ushered me to the other edge opposite from this side. As we walked up that side,
we just continued to stare at the ocean and the small islands out in the distance.
Another couple walked up near us with the same gaze on their faces. I whispered to
Brad that I was ready to go down to the observatory. Mind you, the wind was blowing
like crazy! It was really cold! Meanwhile, the other girl mentioned the same
thing to her boyfriend about being cold. Brad commented, "How many times are we
in Ireland? Let's stand here for just a little bit longer." With that, I took
more pictures...probably repeating some Kodak moments. The other couple walked
down towards the beginning of the little trail. Then Brad takes my left hand and
slowly takes my glove off. I asked what he was doing, and then noticed a grin like
no other on his face! And that's why my voice went high like something a dog can
hear, and I said, "You're doing it, aren't you? You're really doing it?!! Oh my
gosh!" And with that Brad knelt down and said some of the most real and romantic
things I've ever heard (which I'll keep private). Lastly, he said, "I would love
to get off that plane tomorrow as your future husband. Will you marry me?" Well....
after I screamed "yes" in that high-pitched raspy voice, we shared a romantic
moment or two and then started down for the observatory to share the news. A mother
and daughter from Australia passing us pointed at the other couple and said, "That
man down there just proposed!" I held up my hand and said, "So did he!" This called
for more Kodak moments! Two couples...one from the South and the other from the
North....on the same tour...get engaged at the same place at the same time! How
cool is that!?! We went down to the Cliffs of Moher Observatory and shared the
great news! They announced it over the intercom and took tons of pictures of us to
use in their brochures. It was great! Of course, Lisa (the other bride-to-be) and
I raided the gift shop being that we'll probably never be in Ireland again. All
four of us stepped on the bus to the sound of cheers and clapping! Our bus driver,
John, shared his testimony that he's never witnessed an engagement in the 14 years
he's been touring Ireland! Much less TWO engagements in the same day!

The first time Shawn told me he loved me, we had been dating a little over a
month. He went out with his friends one night, and of course I received a phone
call late because he had been thinking of me. At least that's what I thought...
he actually had ventured back to his friend's house by himself and had managed to
get turned around in the neighborhood. None of his friends were answering his
calls and he had no idea where he was or how to get home. So instead of the call
being cute and lovey-dovey and mushy, it quickly turned to panic on my part. I was
on the other side of the cities and had to wake up early for a 5K walk, so there
was nothing I could do to help. Shawn couldn't get a hold of anybody to pick him
up, and on top of it his phone was dying! Oh boy. Good thing he was in a residential
area and not downtown Minneapolis! He attempted to get into an apartment complex,
of course to no avail. In the midst of all of the "Where are you's?" from me, he
managed to spit out an "I love you, Ella. Don't worry!!" And even though it caught
my breath for a second, I was still pretty upset about my boyfriend getting himself
lost!! Needless to say, he made it through the night... he snuggled up in the grass
under a bush and made a pillow for his head with mulch. The next day after he had
been rescued by a buddy, the "I love you" was discussed, and of course it was
returned! And never again does he get to go out without using the buddy
system!!

It's a well known fact among my friends and family that I'm a Disney fanatic
who has dreamed of finding her Prince Charming and "living happily ever after"
since I was a small girl. As the years passed, that dream seemed less and less
likely. Being a season passholder (who lives in the wonderful city of Portland),
it's safe to say I've tossed my share of pennies into Snow White's wishing well
over the years. On December 31st, 2006, after many unfulfilled wishes, I made
what I vowed would be my last. I closed my eyes and tossed a quarter (after all,
a quarter should be worth at least two wishes, right?) and wished for two simple
things: 1) Happiness, and 2) Someone to share that happiness with. A little over
a month later, I received a quirky message on MySpace from a guy who was intrigued
by the fact that the one person I wanted to meet most in the world was none other
than Donald Duck. You see, in over 60 visits to the Magic Kingdom, not once had
I ever seen my favorite character wandering around the park posing for pictures
or signing autographs. Sure, he's been in various parades and shows, but NEVER was
I able to take my picture with the elusive duck. This mysterious MySpace suitor
asked if this Donald Duck guy might be a myth? a figment of my imagination or
posed the ultimate question? whether or not his absence during my visits might be
a conspiracy against me. Of course he was much more eloquent in his writings and
actually made me laugh, so I broke my own rule (not to talk to freaks on the
internet) and messaged him back. We continued to e-mail back and forth over the
next month, eventually learning that we were both from the same part of the state,
both into many of the same hobbies, and both shared an addiction to Starbucks.
So where better to meet a total stranger than at a busy coffee shop, right? Little
did I know that Prince Charming himself would be buying me coffee that morning.
Fast forward to December 2007. It's been almost 10 months since we met and we
decided to ring in the New Year at my most favorite place on Earth. It was his
first trip to Disneyland and there were two things he wanted to accomplish in our
three day trip. 1) Prove Donald Duck's existence (something I told him would be
impossible), and 2) Make wishes at Snow White's well each day we were there. That
first day we walk into the park and pass underneath the tracks of the infamous E.P.
Ripley to find Goofy greeting swarms of children near the Fire House, Minnie posing
for pictures by the Emporium, Pluto singing autographbooks on his nose in Town
Square, and Donald Duck pacing back and forth in front of the Opera House. DONALD!
That's right, the Duck himself was out and about posing for pictures and signing
autographs like I'd never seen before. So of course we stood in line like giddy
little children to take our pictures with him. Task one accomplished, and we
hadn't even been in the park 5 minutes! The less daunting task of making wishes
was next and easily accomplished in the next 5 minutes. Day one proved to be a
success. Day two was spent camping out in front of the castle for the big New
Year's extravaganza that was supposed to happen that night. A few hours prior to
the "ball drop" I sent my loving boyfriend out to retrieve noise makers and party
hats from the distribution area in Big Thunder Ranch. I figured it was easy
enough to find. Just go left past the carousel and keep going until you see the
trees with all the colored lights (the only trees with colored lights in the whole
park mind you). Apparently it wasn't that easy. 40 minutes later he returned with
one hat and one noise maker (hardly enough for the four people in our small group)
and a rather "Grumpy" look. "What's that big wall of lights?" he asked. "It's a
small world?" I respond, wondering how in creation he ended up over there (to the
right of the carousel) when I told him to turn left. This was the beginning of our
first official (although minor) argument. We grappled back and forth for several
minutes about the directions and where he ended up. I, being the Disneyland expert,
know that if you go left at the carousel you end up in Frontierland and eventually
Big Thunder Ranch where the party favors are. It's A Small World is to the right
near the entrance of Toontown. Not wanting to ruin the night I drop the subject
and apologized for my "poor directions," while in my head I know I'm right. :o)
A few minutes later he gets out the map and we realize that my directions, though
correct, are less than adequate for a Disneyland virgin. As we neared midnight it
was becoming more and more clear that due to an unfortunate bout of wind, the
fireworks spectacular was going to be cancelled. The Disney DJ, Emcees and Mickey
and Minnie provided hours of Radio Disney hits from Hannah Montana to Ali & AJ in
the time leading up to the big countdown and the crowd around us was taking it in
stride and dancing to keep warm. At the strike of midnight my first wish came true.
I got my first New Years Eve kiss from the man of my dreams. While waiting for the
crowd to disperse he suggested we make our way to the wishing well to make our
wishes (since we hadn't done so earlier in the day) and then hit up the rides since
everyone seemed to be heading for the exit. So we made our way to the wishing well
and he handed me a penny. I closed my eyes like I always do, kissed the penny and
flicked it into the well. He asked if I'd made my wish, I said yes and then turned
around to find him dropping down on one knee. He said, "me too" and I instantly
began to cry. He told me that I was more than he ever would have dreamed to wish
for and asked if I would make his wish come true by marrying him. Of course, I said
yes. :o) Disneyland really is a place where dreams come true and happily ever afters
begin.

It all started when Scott asked me to "walk out" of work by 3:45 on Monday, May
14th. At the time I worked as an Executive for Target, and leaving on time--much
less early--was a feat. He asked me this about a week in advance, and I could tell
it was important. I had a meeting scheduled at another store that morning that was
supposed to last until noon, but it ended up going until 2:45! I had to rush to make
it back to the store, and I know the Lord was with me because I got there by 3:30 and
I didn't get a ticket. Later on, Scott and I both found out we were praying I would
make it there safely and on time!I went into the store just so I could "walk out" by
3:45. When the time came, I headed to my car, opened the door, and saw that he had
installed a brand new GPS system in my car! If you know me, you know this device will
be a huge help because I get lost just about everywhere. I then found a note from
Scott containing instructions on how to use the GPS, as well as a list of rules. The
note asked me not to call or text him, to follow all instructions exactly as they
were written, and to pay attention to the time limits he would give for each
"mission." Finally, I was given an address to enter into the GPS, and instructed to
drive to the unknown destination. The directions took me to a mall in Rockville, MD.
Of course I was so excited I forgot about the rules and texted him with "Thank you!
I love you!" I got a text message back reminding me about the no texting or calling
rule.At this point, I thought we were going to an early dinner, but no; I then
received a text asking me to look under my seat. There I found an envelope marked
#101. Inside was money and a note that said I needed to go into the mall and buy a
semi-formal dress with matching shoes and accessories that would go with the tie
I had bought him the week before. [I buy him his ties because he has dreadful tastes
in ties!--Not women though! : )] I was given time limits with all my notes, but I
was able to find a dress and shoes under the given time. When I returned to my car,
there was an unmarked envelope under my windshield wiper containing a note that
simply said "glove box." I looked in my glove box, and sure enough, there were
envelopes #102 and #103. I opened #102 and found another note with a new address
and the instructions to open #103 when I arrived at my destination. This time the
directions took me to a shopping strip, where note #103 instructed me to enter the
pharmacy and buy any make-up I would need post-shower. I thought, "Post-shower?
Hmmm.." but I trusted him and went shopping.Upon my return--surprise...another text
message! This one said "right rear floor mat." I looked under the mat and found
envelopes #104 and #105. I opened #104, which again was a new address and again
instructed me to open #105 when I arrived at my destination. The directions led me
to a Marriott hotel in Bethesda, MD, and envelope #105 contained a room number and
room key. While trying to park, I pulled into the wrong parking entrance, and as I
was going in reverse to get back on the main road, I saw what looked to be Scott's
best friend Pat's new car, a silver 2003 Accord Coupe, do a crazy maneuver on the
road. I figured Scott had been following me and now I had caught them! No matter
though, because I had already reached my final destination. I parked, gathered my
new purchases, and went up to room 1138, as the last note had instructed. When I
entered the room I saw a box marked #106. I opened it and found a note and another
smaller box, #107. The note stated that I was to shower, put on my new outfit, and
then open #107. When I got to the bathroom, I found that Scott had brought all my
necessities from home, and if you're a girl, you know how relieved I felt when I
had all of my stuff to shower with. I got completely ready and opened box #107.
It contained a note and a huge bottle of my favorite perfume, which they don't even
carry or make anymore! Somehow he found it online. The note said to spray the perfume
on and look in the nightstand drawer. There I found a small box marked #108. Inside
was another note and a gorgeous diamond necklace. The note inside the jewelry box
said it was the "final touch" to my outfit, and instructed me to be outside in front
of the hotel at exactly 9:00. It was a little after 8:00 at this point, so I was
nearly a whole hour ahead of time! I spent the hour watching Law and Order on and
off. My mind would drift into taking the time to think about my Scott. By this
point I had a good idea of what was going to happen. He had completely surprised
me though and I felt so special, just like a princess. I also took the time to
pray and thank the Lord for Scott and for what we mean to each other. I also prayed
that my dad wouldn't have a heart attack! I knew Scott would never have proposed
without talking to my dad, which he did, but nonetheless, I prayed. :)At 9:00 I
went downstairs only to be greeted by a very well dressed Pat. He opened the car
door for me, and sitting on my seat was envelope #109. Inside was a CD that said
"Play me now," on it. I told Pat, "I'm not going to cry!" and he smiled, put the
CD in, and started driving. The CD was filled with songs that were so meaningful
to Scott and me... I almost cried. I just got very choked up, and remembered what
I look like when I cry with make-up on. I decided I didn't want to look like one
of the characters from Michael Jackson's Thriller on my Engagement Day so I kept
it together. Pat and I didn't talk, and he drove very slowly which I know was
hard for him in his sweet car. We drove for about forty minutes until he pulled
into a restaurant, The Melting Pot. He took my arm and led me to the door where
he handed me note #110. It asked me to enter the restaurant. Pat hugged me and
left.I walked in and the host team had their eyes on me, and I could tell they were
expecting me. The host took me to the back of the restaurant to a secluded spot
where no one could see inside or outside, and there, for the first time all day,
I saw Scott. He hugged and kissed me and handed me envelope #111. Scott knows that
I have always had a connection with the number 111, so I figured this was the big
moment! I opened the note, and it was a lyric from a Josh Turner song, and it said,
"If I gave you my hand would you take it and make me the happiest man in the world?"
By the time I looked up he had a beautiful box in hand with a ring inside. He asked,
"Christine, will you marry me?" I looked at him and hugged him. We think I might
have actually said the word "yes" during all the excitement that followed, but
we're not totally sure. We proceeded to have an amazing 4 course meal, complete
with champagne and everything. It was perfect. The meal lasted for two hours,
during which the staff and a few guests at the Melting Pot all came up and
congratulated us. Scott had been there two hours early, so they had gotten to
know him. During dinner we called our families. My dad was happy, and he concluded
with "I need to go to bed!" We finished eating and went outside, where a black
luxury sedan was waiting to pick us up. The day was perfect. What made it even
better was the support and love we got from our families and friends. Thank you
all! Especially Pat, you're the best! Most of all, thank you, Scott. Thanks for all
the planning and gifts, especially the gift of a life with you. I love you.

We met and dated when I worked for the City in 1998. Things didn't work out for
us in the relationship at that time. I moved back home to Chicago in 1999, but
still visited Kansas City often due to all of the friends and family that I have
there. My sister's spouse works for the City and mentioned I was in town for the
weekend in 2007. Tony asked him to give me his number. I called and we chatted
and went out a couple of times during my visits to Kansas City, but things didn't
go smoothly. Somehow we endured and would always get back together over the course
of about a year of on and off dating. After the last breakup, we had a long
conversation in the airport while I was waiting for my delayed flight back to
Chicago. Tony went into details about how he felt and confessed his love for me
at the Southwest Airlines terminal in March. We started to talk about the future
and getting married during our phone conversations. He asked me to marry him
over the phone and I said yes, but I thought he was joking. We started to talk
about ring styles and he started to shop around and I then realized that he was
serious about being married. We even told our families and the rumor spread, at
least in Chicago. He told me he had purchased a ring and was going to come up for
Memorial Day weekend. I picked him up from the airport and he came over to my
parents house as it was way too early to check into his hotel. My mom cooked
him breakfast and when I went to bathe my little cousin, Tony asked my parents
for my hand in marriage. My parents were happy and gave Tony their blessings.
We were sitting in my room with my little cousin and I was sleepy due to my
early morning trip to the airport. He started to talk about how much he loved
me and he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. I thought it was just
a part of our normal conversation and wasn't paying him any attention until I
felt the ring slipping on my finger. When I looked at him, he asked me to be
his wife and I accepted!

I knew that I had fallen in love with my fiancé the first time I saw him "mime."
Growing up he and his bestfriend started an inspirational miming team for their
church. Six months after we had been dating my fiancé, then boyfriend, asked me
to come watch his last miming show. I was so touched at the beauty and effortlessness
of what he was doing all to show his interpretation of the love of GOd, that he won
my heart from that moment. Though my fiancé had given up miming because of time
constraints and not being able to dedicate time into shows he surprised me by
miming in his fathers church anniversary paty and mimed out his proposal to me in
front of the entire church congregation.

On a Sunday afternoon, I was in the shower getting cleaned up to go to my
parents place while my boyfriend Richard was just arriving home from work. Richard
noticed that I was in the shower and decided to join me. He was standing at the
front of the shower facing me when all of the sudden he began to tell me how
perfect our life was, then, suddenly he started to cry and I couldn't understand
what Richard was saying. I looked at him thinking something must be wrong as he
never has acted this way before. After a minute of me looking confused he got
down on one knee while the water ran down his face and said "Will you marry me?"
which more sounded like blurble blurble, blurble. As you may guess, I was shocked
and unprepared for this unforgettable moment.

We had decided to go away for a night to spend some time together and get
me away from the stress of school. So, I reserved a room at a resort in Lake
Geneva. My fiancé had me drive us up there because he was "tired", which I
found strange. When we arrived at the resort, he immediately jumped out of
the car to check us in, which I also thought was strange. We went to our
room and I was pleasantly surprised to see that we were "accidentally" placed
in a lake view suite, not the room I reserved! I actually believed it was an
accident and didn't think anything of it. That evening we had planned on going
into town to have dinner at a fancy restaurant. However, my fiancé forgot his
dress clothes so we just decided to go to a nice dinner at the resort. I thought
no big deal, he however was very upset about this; which again...strange. After
dinner, we decided to try and take a walk along the lake under the full moon.
However, it was freezing outside so we quickly moved our walk inside. After
walking around the resort for a while talking, we returned to our room. When my
fiancé opened the door, I noticed the room illuminated by the fire place and a
trail of rose petals leading to our room, where there was a bottle of champagne
and chocolate covered strawberries. Despite all the strange things that happened
that day, I was convinced that this was just something romantic that he decided to
do for me; so, I thanked him and gave him a hug and kiss...crying of course. He then
told me that he had one more thing for me; I immediately started crying (again) as
he got down on his knee and asked me to marry him! Of course I said yes! It was a
perfect night...just like I've always dreamed of!

We met on MATCH.com, and he was my very first (and last!) contact. Exactly
what I wanted and needed in my life... After dating for 1 year we declared
our love for one another and discussed marriage. He had left the Marine Corps
prior to our meeting, but was recalled in December of 2007. So, I knew the
proposal was coming and prepared myself beautifully every time we made plans.
The one time I was not prepared was the evening I had to pick him up from
the airport from a trip he made back to NJ for the holidays (before his
deployment). I was just getting over the flu and looked miserable with runny
nose, swollen eyes and yes...socks in sandals. At the bagggage carousel he
asked me if I were ready to be Mrs Belle? I answered, "Yes, whenever you get
around to asking me." All the while not paying full attention to him, but
keeping my eye out for his bag and blowing my nose. He turned me to him and
asked - "No, are you REALLY ready to be Mrs Belle?" and held up his pointer
finger with the ring poised on the tip of it. I screamed "YES!" and held onto
him tightly while the other passengers looked on smiling. (I was obviously
one of the few that had not noticed the ring on his finger as he was talking
to me!) And as I held onto him, I whispered in his ear, "Why on the day that
I look the most horrible?" and he wispered back, "Because I love you and I
knew you were expecting this, but I had to catch you off gaurd!"... and that
he did. We will be wed in CT when he returns from his deployment in 2009.

To ask me to marry him he took a truly romantic approach. He convinced me
that it wouldn't take place in the near future and so when I got a call the
day before our six year anniversary I was taken by surprise. The call informed
me that I was to get dressed up and follow the first clue. That was the
beginning of the best scavanger hunt of my life. It took me to places that
held special meaning to us as a couple. The place where I danced, our old
school, parent's and grandparent's homes and finally Krug Park. At each spot
someone special in our lives was there to give me the next clue. When I finally
arrived at the park that we had gone biking, hiking, and picniced at I found him
at the rose garden gazebo. All dressed up it was there that he proposed, and
one of the most special touches was that he included my parents on the phone.
They live in AZ and couldn't be there and so he had them on the phone with my
grandparents as he popped the question. It was so sweet and romantic I couldn't
have asked for anything more and very quickly told him yes.

When James asked me to marry him he had planned that when we went out to
dessert that night his cousin (who is also one of my bridesmaids) went over to
my house and set up candles and flowers. Well while we were out on our date
my mother just happened to go by my house and saw someone's car there and
called me all in a panic thinking someone was in my house that I didnt know
about. Well james covered it up saying it was probably Shiela (his cousin) just
looking for him. Then after we left the restaurant, we went over to my house
to see what my mom was talking about. I got in the house and saw all the flowers
and candles and when I turned around he was down on one knee and he proposed!

I was at work and got a phone call from him asking if I wanted him to
drop off food. I told him I'd be home soon and that he could stop by if he wanted
to, but I'd be home soon. We went back and forth for a couple minutes before
he finally agreed to see me at home. Ten minutes later someone walked into my
office and I went to see who it was. I saw someone in a penguin costume and
my first reaction was to call security (I work at a social services facility)
and then I saw our friend video taping. My fiancé said, "You couldn't see the
penguins, so I brought the penguin to you." He got down on one knee and asked,
"Will you accept my pebble?" my response, "Uhh..yeah!"

How did he propose? We just moved into our first house we purchased
together; I had been sick for about two weeks prior with the flu. He
had planned on proposing on our one year anniversary March 16th; however
I ended up in the hospital that day with pneumonia, not too romantic!
He waited and proposed three days later March 19th. My only request for his
proposal was that he ensured I had a manicure before the "big day". On
Wednesday March 19th, I was home from work still recovering, he called me
and said I want to make dinner for you tonight and I also booked you a mini
spa day, your appointment is in one hour. I knew it!!! Brian cooked dinner
and after a few fire alarms, a frantic dog, and a wonderful meal, he
proposed. We stood up next to our table and he hugged me and asked me
if I would make him the luckiest man in the world. Before he even spoke
I knew what he was going to say because I could feel his heart rapidly beating
against my chest. I will never forget that feeling. We then toasted to Ginger
Ale because I was still sick.

It was only a few weeks after we had started dating. We were at an amusement
park, sitting on a bench and waiting for a train to come. David kept staring
at me, and I asked him why. He said "My eyes are trying to tell you something."
I replied, "your lips are better equipped for that." (Sarcasm is one of the
staples of our relationship). That whole day, I felt like I knew that he was
trying to say I love you, and I wanted to say the same thing. But we both
chickened out until the next weekend when we couldn't hold it in anymore.
We were scared that it was too soon to say it after only a few weeks of knowing
each other. Now, we're coming up on our year anniversary and we're planning
a wedding in May of 2009!

When we first started dating a year ago, Billy was so charming, yet stern.
He got that from being a police officer. He took me on our first date to
a sushi restaurant. Now picture this, I'm a city girl from Baltimore, MD
who loves trying new foods and loves sushi. Billy is a good ol' country
boy from Farmville, VA who thinks sushi is a fancy word for a type of beef.
So right away, I thought he was really great. On the way to the restaurant
during the 1 hour car ride, Billy warns me all about how he won't say "I
love you" until he is sure he is going to marry that person and how strict
he is about using the "love" word. I listened to him and nodded along with
the conversation the whole ride. He was really convincing. Needless to say,
the date was amazing. Billy actually liked sushi even when he found out what
it really was. A week later we attended a mutual friends wedding together.
After the reception he took me back to his house where we sat on the couch
and talked. Five minutes into the conversation, Billy blurts out "I love you" to
me. I said, "What did you just say to me," half in shock that he actually said
it. I mean here is a guy that just spent an entire hour a couple days beforehand
declaring that he would NOT say I love you and only one week into dating and he's
now declaring his love! He responded to me, "I love you...OK! I can't help
it...I love you!!!" I burst out laughing and hug him so tightly. It was just
such an honest beautiful moment from a guy that tries so hard to be tough.
I don't know how he knew that he was "going to marry me" at that moment
(since that was the only way he'd say I love you), but here we are a year
later and getting married!

Mike and I dated for a couple of months at the beginning of high school
and I knew right from the start that he was the person I was going to marry
one day. Mike had other plans and broke up with me. I was sooo sad but I
knew we were meant to be together so I never gave up hope. If you ask Mike
he'll tell you that I stalked him for a year but I like to say that I was
persistent. The following summer Mike finally became my friend again and
we spent every night talking on the phone for hours. One night when we
were hanging up he said "I love you" and then hung up the phone. I sat
there in shock and didn't know what to do. When I spoke to him the following
day I asked him if he meant what he said the night before...he denied everything!
When we were hanging up that night Mike asked if I remembered asking him if he
meant what he said the night before (of course I did!). I said yes and he said
he did and he would never stop telling me. We have been together for eight
years this fall and he still tells me he loves me every night before bed.
Who would've thought that high school sweethearts really do exist still!

I met Ronald on the internet, September 25, was when we agreed to
meet in person. We had a really nice first date and decided that we
would like to continue seeing each other. I live in Rocky Mt he lived
in Greensboro that was a two hour drive each way. We would usually
see each other every weekend, but there would be times that he couldn't
get here. He would call me every day while he was at work, to see
how my night was and to tell me how much he loved me. We have both
been married before, and were loooking forward to getting married in
the future. One Sunday he couldn't make it, I was so sad I talked with
him every day a few times a day but it just wasn't the same I was in
love with this man and was missing him terribly. I said to him that
next Tuesday that maybe we could meet in Raleigh instead of him having
to always come to RM. He had been at work since 6:00 that morning. He
told me he woould work on it, and that was the last I had heard from him.
It was about 8:45 that evening I was wondering what had happened to him,
he hadn't called, yet. At about 9:00 the phone rang he said "what you
doing, I said nothing, then the door bell rang my daughter knew who I
was talking to and she wanted to speak in the mean time he was telling
Janae to open the door but because she was so excited she didn't hear what
he was saying to her. The door bell rang again I always look out the
window to see who is at the door I looked out of the window and discovered
it was him, when I opened the door I cried. He reached out his arms to
give me a hug but my daughter jumped in front of me. It was 9:00 at night
I knew that he had worked all day and that he hadn't eaten all day long. I
and I knew he was tired. I asked him what he was doing here he told me that
he sensed that his baby needed him and so he came. I was married for 14
years before getting a divorce no one has ever done anything that special
for me before. It melted my heart I really knew then (like I didn't know
when I first met him) that he was the man for me. I had been praying and
asking God to send someone into my life and he did when he sent Ronald
to me.

We meet in the spring of 1999. We dated for a while then we went our
separate ways but remained friends. In the Spring of 2002 he asks me to
marry him. My reply then was no, still remaining friends we kept in touch through
the years. We lost contact in 2004. In 2007 I recieved a letter from
him. We caught up on each others lives and he let me know that that
offer was still on the table this time I accepted the offer and we set
the date for 9/26/2009.

I have been in one those relationships where no one talks about it before
I met Jack. At first I was scared to get hurt again and turned him down
numerious times to date. Finally one day I agreed to a movie and supper.
From that moment on he made me feel free by asking me what I would like
to do. He always gets me feeling better on everything with his smile and
a simple hug that makes me melt. I knew Jack was the one after I got to
know his in's and out's. We have been dating for five years and now we
are getting married in 14 months. I am so excited to see him at the
alter look at me when I enter the church.

Although not knowing it, our journey began the day we met each other on Friday,
September 29th, 2006. . .How we first met. . .Damien: I was invited to a dinner
at Jess house, who was a friend of mine since a while, but I wasn't expecting to
meet my lovely little fiancé there. You still have to know that I come to the
diner just because Jess told me that her roommate was Asian.Diana: I was living
in Paris with my American roommate at the time. She had studied abroad 2 years
prior so she already had some French friends. She wanted to show them our
apartment and asked me if I wanted to come out to have some drinks. I said,
"Yeah, sure. It would be nice to meet some natives here." and then she proceeds
to tell me, "Damien, will like you. He likes Asian girls." I rolled my eyes and
thought, oh god...Our first thoughts upon meeting each other. . .Diana: I
thought, he's a little short, and gosh he's hairy! He was wearing a crew neck
shirt and I could still see hair coming out from his neck.Damien: I thought,
she is really cute, but i didn't know why she was always looking at me. I
noticed she has one eye smaller than the other. She is Asian which is a plus
for me. I love Asian girl. What happened that night. . .Damien: We had a Mexican
dinner, we ate Fajitas (I only ate chicken ones because I don't like beef, but
it's another story). We were really close to each other. After the dinner we
went on the roof to see Paris from an amazing view, and Diana was stuck on me
because, she said, she was afraid of heights (I didn't trust her). Later we
went to a bar to have some drinks, and I was convinced I will kiss her. She
was facing me in the bar, we were talking to each other, and when Jess and JC
went to the bathroom, I jumped over the table and I kissed her, that's how
everything started.Diana: We actually had an "American-Mexican" dinner. Jess
wanted to show them a taste of American cuisine.. if you can really even call
it cuisine. We bought taco in a box, so you can imagine how that went. Damien
just ate the chicken, so I asked him if he wanted to try the beef . He said
no because he doesn't eat beef. I thought, he's weird. It's still weird, he e
ats everything else, even sea cucumbers, but not beef. I was really nervous
that night to meet Jess's friends, because my french sucked, it still does.
So, I drank wine to loosen up; 3 glasses in fact! The roof was spectacular;
there are just no words for it. Jess and JC shared a towel and Damien and I
shared a towel, I was close to him because I really was scared of heights!
Really, no joke. And I was cold. So there. For the record, I kept looking at
Damien because I was checking to see if he was checking me out. Since Jess
had told me that he likes Asian girls, I figured it would be easy. But not
once did he try to make eye contact or do anything remotely flirtatious. I was
quite appalled. It was supposed to be easy. By ignoring me, he took it to the
next level. It was on.In the bar Damien kept looking at me. A lot. I think he
was just waiting for some alone time, so when Jess and JC left, he pounced on
me, he leaned in half-way across the table and started kissing me.How the night
ended. . .Damien: I took Diana back to her house, she was really drunk, and
didn't want to kiss me again, so I decided to bite her to be sure she remembers
me when she would wake up. I got back to my house around 5am. and 2 hours later
I was having an exam. That's everything that happened for our first night.
(I failed for the exam, but I was still on time which is exceptional for me ...
I'm always late).Diana: Once we were in front of my apartment building, Jess and
JC were talking and Damien approached me and had me up against the wall with his
arm on one side of me, his hand up against the wall. A very clich? image, but
that's how it happened. He tried to lean to kiss me, but I turned away and said
no. He said, "Come on you want it." And that's when I really didn't want it.
So he leaned in again and I turned my head once again, thinking he'd just kiss my
neck or something, but then he bit me. He really bit me, hard. I screamed out and
Jess and JC turn around asking what happened. So I told them, and they were
laughing. Typical of Damien to do something like that. I would have to say that
that was the most memorable and unpleasant love bite I've ever had. (Damien: You
don't like love bites anyway).Final thoughts. . .Diana: Before even meeting
Damien, Jess had told me that in a month Damien would move to China to study
abroad for 2 semesters. That day when I met him, I had absolutely no intentions
of being in a relationship with him. We have really come a long way... Here we
are now, engaged and ready to embark on this new journey of the marriage
afterlife. Who'da thought!Damien: At the beginning, I was just thinking: "Just
another girl", but finally it became a strong relationship while everybody was
thinking it wouldn't work out, but we did it, and we are now about to get
married, for better or certainly for worse (lol). We have time to do what we
want of our life, and have our heads plenty of plans together. We have never
been that closed to it.

On a regular basis we discuss how our relationship is going. One afternoon
Charles asked me if there was anything he could change. Lacking a true request
I told him he could cook me dinner more. Two weeks later Charles told me that
Friday night I would be having a chef. I spent the next few days looking
forward to dinner. Friday morning Charles told me "I have to spill the secret -
I'm cooking you lobster!!" so I continued to be ever more excited that day.
Upon arriving home from work I could hear Charles cooking and the table was set
with wine, candles, flowers and cloth napkins. I helped Charles with some of the
finishing touches and he asked me to go put on a little black dress. We dined
together, with Charles cracking all of the lobster and me feeding the both of
us. After eating we took the wine and some chocolate into the living room.
Charles opened the chocolates for me and I went to grab one when I found a
diamond ring. He looked at me and said nothing but "Will you marry me?" He
didn't have to say anything else, the emotion in his voice said everything... and
that begings our happily ever after!

My fiancé and I were high school sweethearts when we were military brats
living in Japan. He asked me to marry him our senior year, but I wanted to
wait and finish college. As he thought I really didn't love him, we
separated right before our HS graduation and went our separate ways.
Almost 20 years later he contacted me via classmates.com and we have been
inseparable since then. He said I have to marry him now... ;-) ....and
I agreed.

My fiancé wanted to create the perfect proposal. He had put a lot of
thought and work into it. He re-created our first date perfectly. As we
were walking around the park he led me over to the fountain and got down
on his knee. The most memorable part was when he dropped the ring. He
had tried to make everything perfect and he was upset that dropping it had
dented the band on the ring. To me though, it will remind me everyday
just how hard he tried and how much he loves me to try and make it perfect!

After a very LONG day of packing up my apartment in Gainesville, Florida and
driving 6 hours to Columbia, South Carolina, my fiancé had the house set up
like a scavenger hunt. It was Christmas season and I started at the Christmas
tree with little note cards leading me all over the house. I had a Christmas
present or Birthday gift waiting at every location. The last location was
in the Master Bedroom. I opened the box and it was empty, when I turned
around he was on his knee with my ring asking me to spend the rest of my
life with him! I am so excited about our future together!!

When me and my fiancé first met we talked for hours! I was sooo attracted
to him that first night. He sent me home with a sweet simple kiss. Such a
gentleman. We became practically inseperable! And then on May 16th, 2008
he proposed! My proposal was not the typical romantic proposal by any means!
He went to pick out the ring so he could propose at my birthday dinner
(typical) BUT the ring wasn't ready. So he had to wait. My birthday was on
a Monday. It came to Friday and I still hadn't received even a card from
him for my birthday. Naturally I did what women do best in that situation,
I cried. I secluded myself in our bedroom and next thing you knew he came
in (this time he was crying too) and got down on one knee. I was so happy
I couldn't stop crying. My prince charming turned my sad tears into tears
of joy with 4 simple words... "Will you marry me?"

The first few months of dating can be a fun and exciting time for a new couple.
When Charlie and I started dating, he will tell you I gave him mixed signals
and that he was not sure if I was into him or not. I was though. I was trying
to play it cool. We all make our share of mistakes in dating and I had made
mine. I had learned from then though and I knew this was the guy for me. I
told him to bring his A game. I wanted to be impressed and boy did this man
come through. Earlier that week I had invited Charlie over for Friday night
movies and pizza. It had been a long week for us both and hanging out at my
apartment sounded like a good start. When I saw the car pull up in front of
my Brooklyn apartment I was thrilled. In his arms was the largest bouquet of
flowers I had ever seen. The buzzer rang and I ran down to open the door. He
was standing there with flowers in hand and a great smile on his face.
(I should say, no one had ever given me flowers like that before!) They
were beautiful! Sterling roses, wild flowers, and lilacs! He had remembered
my favorite flowers were lilacs after having been on a walk the weekend before
and pointing them out and stopping to smell the flowers, so to speak. I thought
I would melt right there. I put the flowers down and put my arms around the neck
of this fantastic man and gave him a kiss. It was at that moment that I knew I
loved Charlie. Not because he brought me flowers but because he remembered the
little things that easily could have just slipped by. Just over two years later,
he continues to surprise me by always remembering the little things.

When I first met James, I wasn't looking for much, or so I thought. We talked
on the phone like high school students for what seemed like months, but it was
only three weeks and two days. When we had our first officail date, we certainly
had company, a screaming, raging, mad-woman of a one year old with us, screaming
and grunting at the dinner table like she was raised in the jungle. But, James,
who is awesome with kids, was able to not only calm her down, but also helped turn
her beating the table into music to our ears. Needless to say, my now two year
old God-daughter, is totally in love with him, and when she's around, it's all
about music and food, I guess the saying is true, when your kids fall in love
with your man, it's gotta be true love.

It was the last day of vacation in Gulf Shores, AL and I had wanted to wake
up early and go collect shells as the tide was going out. We got there and
were the only ones on the beach and decided to walk for a while. After
walking about a mile I got stung by a jellyfish and was pretty upset and
was saying I wished that this beach wasn't so animal infested and suddenly
he said, " ou know there is one great thing about this beach." I was like
what is that? He said it has you and me on it and then he bent down on one
knee and asked if I would like to marry him. I was so excited that I just
jumped up in his arms and we swung around. It was the greatest moment of

I came home from work to find an engraved framed collage of pictures
on a table outside my apartment. Inside was glowing from candles and
a trail of rose petals that led around the hall. There were four different
mirrored settings on the floor with a different colored rose and a card:
Innocence - White Rose. I never thought that not getting the internship
I wanted would be the best thing that ever happened to me. Both of us
coming off relationships and emotionally torn up, we started talking
because we had to sit next to each other. I used to laugh at Rong when
he mentioned us dating. Friendship - Yellow Rose. As our senior year
progressed and finally ended, our friendship continued to blossom as well.
It's so true that good relationships spawn out of strong friendships and I
can't imagine someone who understands me and wants to learn more about me
than you. Falling In Love - Red Rose. There was undienable chemistry
between us forever. Part of me wanted to resist the feelings I felt for
you, but I couldn't. Looking back, the Tropicana was the perfect way for
us to break the late night stuff and start to get serious. Be Mine,
forever - Orange Rose. We have been thru so much together-distance, medical
lifestyle, and stressors. I know that we can handle anything together. Finally,
my fiancé was around the corner next to the dinner table set with my favorite
meal he cooked earlier, holding the ring and on one knee. It blew me away!

Brendan is a 7th grade math teacher and I am a civil defense attorney.
He signed me up for career day at his school. I went and spoke to seven
different classes about how to become an attorney. The last class I had
to talk to was Brendan's class. At the end of my speech, I asked if any
of the students had questions. One student in the back row held up a poster
that said "Abby" the next kid had another poster and the whole back row held
up posters that each read one word, "Abby Michele Ross, I love you, Will
you..." and when I turned to my right Brendan was on one knee with a ring!
He proposed in front of his whole class. Little did I know the whole school
knew he was going to propose and arranged career day around it! He even
videotaped the whole thing! And that was how we got engaged!

just talking, so I thought he was just trying to be romantic, since a

got up out of his chair and got on one knee and popped the question.

William and I met in college and started dating our freshman year. We
went to school in my hometown of Fairfax, Virginia, but I had never been to
his hometown in New Jersey. So, William planned a trip to NJ. The first time I
visited NJ he took me to downtown Clinton, which is a small little town
with cute boutiques, great food, and the Red Mill. The first time I saw
the Red Mill I fell in love with it. It's a gorgeous view. It's an old
water mill that has a river flowing in front of it and a bridge where
you can overlook the water. Every time we went back to NJ we always
visited the little town and the Red Mill because it's my favorite place
to go. In December 2007 I went to visit William in NJ during our college
winter break. One day during my trip he took me to see a chick flick.
After the movie I thought we were heading back to his house because it
was starting to snow, but he had other plans. He drove me to the Red Mill.
We got out of the car and walked to a place that overlooks the water and
the Red Mill. He pulled me close and told me how much I mean to him. Then,
he got down on one knee and proposed, even though the ground was wet from
the snow and it was freezing. I was shocked and said yes. It couldn't
have been more magical!

My Fiancé and I have a long distance relationship with him being in the

hope and pray that it will get stonger as the years go bye.

Once Upon A Time...There lived a princess and her prince. One day the
prince told the princess that he had planned a surprise for her for
Christmas. He presented her with four dresses and said she could choose
whichever her heart desired. He then took her to find matching shoes
and a purse because hey, a girl's gotta have matching shoes and a purse!
That night she met the prince in front of their castle to find a modern
day horse and carriage awaiting her. The limo took them on a tour of their
town, which was decorated for the holidays. They arrived at dinner, The
Tabard Inn, and were immediately escorted to one of their finest tables.
After a wonderful dinner, her prince whisked her away to the National
Symphony Orchestra to see a Christmas show. On the way home, the prince
convinced his princess that the night was over and it was time for bed.
The princess was content only to find that their door had a beautifully
decorated wreath that had not been there when they left. The prince said
he had one more little surprise for his princess. He called her inside and
she found, that while they were out, his friends had decorated their
entire apartment for Christmas, and there, by the Christmas tree, amid a
Norah Jones cover of "Love Me Tender" the prince asked the princess to
be his wife. And they lived happily ever after.

We met in Dec. of 2006 and from day 1, we clicked. Getting to know each
other and always laughing and joking. He used to travel more then and
during his first trips away since we met (about 4 months) he bought me a
ring (not THE ring). I thought that was pretty quick for a guy to do but
he's not like alot of guys who get scared of commitment so quickly into a

this was the way he wanted to take things so soon. Eight more months of
enjoying each other's company, he gave me "THE" ring.

Our grandparents are old friends though we had never met - until they

In 2005, my then-boyfriend Warren ended up spending Christmas with my family
because his mom went out of town. We'd only been dating a little over 3

year we'll spend of our lives together." Every year since then I've received
