Cameo Appearances

Categories Fashion + Inspiration

I loved playing in my Nan’s jewelry box when I was a kid!  She had the pretty, dangly, sparkly stuff and would let me just play and play in her jewelry box for as long as I wanted!  And, while I found my mom’s jewelry box to be a little more conservative than Nan’s, I do remember being awed with her coral-colored cameo portraits… carvings so intricate and interesting.  I like them today~ works of art that have stood the test of time!

While fashion trends zig, cameo approaches zag {with regard to weddings} accessorizing bouquets, jewelry, hairpieces, confections, shoes and more!

Winter Wedding Bouquet Ideas

Categories Inspiration

Even though we’re smack dab in the middle of summer… let’s take a look at some ideas for a winter wedding bouquet.

Via Austin Wedding blog… I first set eyes upon these fabulous feather bouquets from Emplume.  I was instantly wide-eyed… these bouquets are so pretty and creative and such a wonderful alternative to a traditional bouquet!

Emplume also custom-makes boutonnieres, garters, corsages and ring pillows… fun!

What do you think of these… Marabou {stork} feathers surrounding little pine cones and evergreen sprigs?

or how about a juniper and arborvitae bough like the one shown below… interesting.  Worth the consideration?

or perhaps… you could embellish a  muff with pearls, crystals, flowers…

our designs YOUR WAY

Categories Wedding Stationery

our designs YOUR WAY… a new feature that showcases how MagnetStreet Weddings’ brides and grooms-to-be are personalizing their wedding stationery to call it their own! I really really enjoy this feature because not only do I get to see how ya’ll transform a design, but I get to chat with you, share in your excitement and get a little glimpse of your wedding day vision.  It’s a lot of fun for me!  And, I hope it gets you excited about your big day too.

LOTS and LOTS of kudos to my girls on the front lines~ the Customer Care team who chat with you every day.  They are incredible to work with… sending me their recommendations for the feature and SO MUCH MORE.  Thanks you guys!  You rock.  You really do!  You keep me busy and I love it!  I’ve sooo many more to share… that said, here’s this weeks.  Enjoy!!

I love how this couple personalized their Save the Date into something BOLD and BEAUTIFUL mixing in their fun personalities. LOVE red~ it takes the design to a whole new spectacular level!

Read about their sweet and thoughtful wedding day vision… from the bride herself

“Our wedding colors are White, Champagne and accents in Dark Rich Red.

We picked this particular Save the Date because it looked like the invite design we used for the engagement invitations and the type of design we are planning to use in the wedding invitations. Its classic yet fun and really portrays what we are going for.  Not so much a theme but the idea we are trying to follow is ‘Our Story’ from the friendship… to the relationship… using places, songs and thing that are part of our time together as the key elements of the whole event.

Instead of numbering the tables, we will be naming them with places or songs or things that were part of the our time together.  Each table will have a little card explaining the name. We’ve been picking certain songs that are going to be played that are really dear to us.  The entrance for the parents is going to be my dad’s favorite {he passed away some years ago and in this way, he will be part of it too}.  As part of the entrance and through the cocktail hour part, we will be displaying scrap books we’ve putting together since our first anniversary as a couple.  It’s all about the story we are building as a couple. And the Caricature… One of my fiance’s favorite  places in the world is Disney World.  The caricature was done by one of the Disney Caricaturists at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort.  We knew we wanted one for our save the dates.”

This Save the Date is entitled “Devoted” and this couple’s photo choice could not be more PERFECT for this design.  … the city skyline in the background… the rich sepia and white contrast… the wispy clouds in the sky..  the movement of the water… P-E-R-F-E-C-T!  Leaves me thinking… casual sophistication.  Love it!

Now~from our beautiful bride-to-be…

“Our wedding colors are black and white, everything is very simple but yet very elegant which is another reason I went with a sepia Save the Date with white text.

My photographer actually shot this picture in Hoboken, NJ with NYC behind us in black and white and he thought it would look great in sepia. We started dating in Hoboken about 3 yrs ago and we currently live in the city so it was fun for us to take the picture where it all started… with our current lives in the {NYC}background.”

Fancy Blossoms… another very pretty Save the Date featuring whimsical floral details.  I’m drawn to this couple’s photo~ it’s intriguing… a hip couple, the soft, subtle colors in the flower bed, the depth to the background, the swirls on the fencing… idk… it’s just cool! {I also think it’s cool how they’re in step with each other}.

the bride on choosing this particular Save the Date…

“I picked this particular Save the Date magnet because first of all, my colors are Blue and Brown so it fit the colors well.

We’re using a lot of sticks for decoration and this design reminded me of nature and the un-tame idea of sticks and such.   Also, I love swirls and it contained a lot of those which was another big reason for me to chose that card. I looked around at many different stores and web sites before deciding on this particular design and when I saw it, I just knew that that was the one for us.  I showed it to my mom and to my fiance and they both loved it as well!”

Have a great weekend everyone!
