A Fourth of July Real Wedding

Categories Real Weddings
This week’s “spirited theme” culminates in the real wedding of MagnetStreet Weddings graphic designer, Lindsay~ and the love of her life and now husband, Mike.

Their parents thought they were crazy…  A July 4th wedding…cherry, apple and blueberry pie instead of wedding cake?  Hold the reception at a public park with brats, burgers, baseball and volleyball, they asked???  Hmm.  Lindsay wondered, were they crazy?
Mike and Lindsay’s personal style was reflected throughout their all-Americana wedding day.  Mike is also in the Army reserves.

Lindsay bought her dress off the rack… The bridesmaids’ dresses however, were sewn by a professional seamstress (a mom of one of the bridesmaids).   Aren’t they fun?

The tune, “God Bless the USA” played as the new Mr. and Mrs. walk out of the church and into a sun-drenched, gorgeous day.

Wondering what was so funny when they knelt down during the ceremony…Mike and Lindsay were eventually let in on this practical joke (and the jokester) and had a good laugh themselves.

Guests could roam within the park, join in on a game of volleyball, baseball, frisbee golf, play cards, or just relax and eat at picnic tables, decorated with red, white and blue balloons, bunting and tablecloths.  Young and old alike, everyone was having a blast!

No worries about the dress!  It’s all about the fun.  Don’t you just love to see the bride and groom enjoying their party?

Mike and Lindsay’s wedding even made the news.  Here’s Mike in his Army uniform, pretending not to see his bride in her dress as the photo was taken before the wedding.

Are you having a themed wedding or have been to one?  Tell us about it in the comments.

Have a happy July 4th everyone!  Enjoy the weekend, see you Monday.

So what is it about us that brings out the patriotic sense around the 4th? I think every blog will have a post today and tomorrow that has something to do with red, white, and blue, along with a few photos of RW&B something or another.

We all love America and it is great we have a day to celebrate this!

Thank you for commenting. I appreciate the food for thought! A friend of mine likes to say~ no matter how thin a piece of paper, there’s always two sides.

Wow! That was a serious commitment! I wish I could have photographed that one… I’m surprised I didn’t see any sparkler shots though… :)
