Categories Fashion + Wedding Attire + Wedding Planning

For wedding day… should you or should you not~ wear your glasses… is that the decision you’re trying to make?

Most wedding photos feature spectacle-less brides. Not much help there.

But, what if you need your glasses to like… uh… see and contacts aren’t an option? Or you need your glasses some or even most of the time? Or maybe you simply like the way you look in your glasses and everyone is used to you in them.

Do you wear them? I’d say, go for it!

How cute is this bride with her glasses? Adorable cute.

Talk to your Photographer

If you’re indecision lies concerned about being photographed in glasses, then talk to your photographer about it. They will give you lots of suggestions for cutting glare and reducing the indentations made when you take them off. They know how to keep you looking beautiful!

Work it out with your Stylist

Talk to your stylist about the right frames for your hair, face shape, makeup and veil. Perhaps you will want to get new specs or frames~ just for the wedding!

Who IS wearing glasses on wedding day? How are you planning for it?

Who’s NOT wearing glasses? If you normally wear glasses but have decided to OPT OUT, how are you compensating?

Does your fiance’ have an opinion about whether you do or don’t wear your glasses?

My sister went to her optometrist and borrowed a pair of empty sample frames that resembled her own. She used them for all the portrait shots – no glass, no glare! And the photos look like her, because she’s never without her glasses.

When I was a MOH I took off my glasses for the outside photos because they were transition lens. If I would have thought about it before the wedding I would have worn a different pair!

My fiance normally wears glasses, but he will be wearing contacts the day of the wedding because he feels more comfortable and formal sans glasses. I wear contacts 24/7 ;-)

I have been married twice & both times my wives wore glasses as that is how I know them & loved them. On the other hand, a friend of mine, a full time glasses wearer was asked by her mother not to wear her glasses to show off her eyes. Her fiance wore glasses. So she did as she was asked but in the car felt like a fish out of water with out her glasses. She squinted at all the pictures & ended up with a bad headache because of strain. So you should be natural, relax, & enjoy the day with clear vision. This girl was myopic same as my second wife. The first was long sighted.
