Locking in Your Love!

Categories Inspiration + Romance

What is your favorite symbol of everlasting love? A wedding ring? A bouquet of roses? A love letter? An engraved padlock?

My bosses were in Germany recently, and all I got were these three very cool photos of the “Love Locks” on the Hohenzollernbrucke railway and pedestrian bridge in Cologne. Are you familiar? A fairly new trend {last 10-12 years or so}, Love Locks are found mostly in Europe, in Canada and if you look closely, in the U.S. too. Been to Lovelock, Nevada or the Brooklyn Bridge lately?

What’s it all about? Forever love! This romantic movement involves couples professing their love by etching their initials onto a lock … attaching it to a bridge, post, fence or if you’re in Moscow–a tree–and then throwing away the key. Here in Cologne, couples toss their keys into the Rhine River.

Although not exactly eco-friendly, it is entirely romantic! Could you see yourself locking your love?

Bridges are romantic all by themselves but to see all these colorful, personalized locks has got to be inspiring!

Have you been here or seen the Love Locks somewhere else?

Sigh …

How Will “Brangelina” Save the Date?

Categories Inspiration

Happy Friday everyone!

Well, it’s finally happened…seven years and six kids later: Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are engaged! (As many of you are probably aware.) And although Jolie was first spotted with her ring on April 11th, rumors are fluttering that the two have been engaged for quite awhile. Custom-designed by Mr. Pitt himself, the engagement ring features a giant, sparkling diamond–weighing in at a colossal 16 carats.  Yowza!

So why now? Sources say that the couple’s clan of six kids (three biological, three adopted) have been the catalyst in their decision to finally tie the knot.

Brad and Angelina engaged

But let’s not focus on when or why they have decided to get married. Let’s focus on the future–and specifically: What will their Save the Date look like?

Yes, it’s time for another Celebrity Save the Date! Below I’ve selected three Save the Date designs that fit Brangelina’s style. Let me know what you think!

Seamless Charm

When it comes to fashion both on and off the red carpet, Angelina seems to favor that classic, all-black look. This design conveys that retro, black-and-white look that I’m sure she would love. The stripes give it a slightly modern edge, while the photo allows Brad and Angie to feature their favorite “editorial-style” family photo (taken by some famous photographer, of course).

 Sketched in Love

Since the power couple has six kids–and those children are rumored to have influenced their decision to marry–I could definitely see them using a multi-photo Save the Date like this one. Featuring a collage of four photos, this design would give them plenty of space to showcase all their beautiful children: Maddox, Zahara, Shiloh, Pax, Knox, and Vivienne (whew!).

Timeless Style

The family of eight resides in New Orleans–a historic city that has personal meaning to them (especially Brad). If they get married in New Orleans, then this fleur-de-lis design would be a great way to complement their wedding city/theme.

What do you think of the three Save the Date designs I chose for Brad and Angie?

Which is your favorite, or do you have another design in mind? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
