Color Monday: Lighten Up

Categories Resources + Wedding Stationery

Welcome to Color Monday!

Today we’re going to lighten up our color palettes! We’re celebrating the ability to completely transform wedding invitations with color by flipping them all around. We’re going to take dark and serious designs and only switch the color to make them light and airy…

Here is Wall of Love, a beautiful wedding invitation with a cute little monogram and awesome swirls. (You should check out the folded invites! so pretty!) But instead of black we’re going to use Dusty Rose. Instantaneously the whole feeling of the design changes. The swirls become lacy and delicate. Instead of a serious and formal black and white wedding I have visions of pretty pink flowers perhaps even at a garden wedding.

Next we’ll play with Stemming Flowers, a great wedding invitation with a strong fall color combination. Just tweaking the colors to be more muted with lavender and gray this design would work wonderfully for a relaxed, springtime wedding. I can almost smell the lilacs and lavender.

And of course we’ve saved the best for last. We’ve taken the design, Abstract Flowers, and transformed the wedding invitation with brand-new colors. Flipping the black to white and swapping “coral” for the deep purple we have completely changed the look of this invitation. Using one of your favorite colors really makes a difference.

You can use ANY color you love and you can use it on ANY of our wedding invitations. Feel free to try your colors inside Design Studio, our online personalization tool. It is easy to see exactly what your invitation would look like in the color of your dreams! No need to order up front, just go play with color.

What favorite color would you love to use?

For those of you who really pay attention, we’ve done this before and just might do it again. Any suggestions on color or designs to try out?

and a poem from Aung H. {No pic} {Manufacturing}

Aung’s mother was a doctor in Myanmar/Burma. During the riots in the early 1970′s, Aung’s mom went to the aid of some people who were being shot in the street by the government and killed in the crossfire when Aung was only 9 months old.

This is the poem Aung wrote about his mom:

For My Mother

My Mother’s love is as the highest mountain
My Mother’s compassion is as the widest ocean
My Mother’s kindness is as the unfathomable sky!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the Moms! You really do rock!

Mason Jar Wedding Ideas

Categories Centerpieces + Wedding Decor + Wedding Stationery

Can you believe how popular mason jars still are for weddings? We really shouldn’t be though. They’re so simple, cool and versatile … from drinking out of them to decorating with them! Looking for rustic wedding ideas? How about country wedding ideas? Or, perhaps vintage wedding ideas? Look to mason jars. They’re effortless to spruce up: here are a few more ideas.

Centerpiece with single stem flowers:

The doilies give off a pretty vintage feel but you could easily change the tone to rustic or country by arranging the mason jars on a wood trivet or stump.

Eclectic arrangements:

Love the look of blue mason jars–especially when the flowers are paired with pretty colors like these pink peonies.

Rustic mason jar chandelier:

Doubling as a decorative shelf as well as a pretty lighting source.

Country wedding sweetness:

Love this! And the hand-drawn tag makes it that much more charming.

Hand-painted and vintage:

And will you take a gander at this hand-painted lovely?

New York Wedding: Eric & Danielle

Categories Real Weddings + Wedding Stationery

A whirlwind wedding … literally.

As if their lovely Long Island venue setting wasn’t spectacular enough, a hurricane developed on Eric and Danielle’s New York wedding too. Perhaps a photographer’s dream, and a bride’s worst nightmare … Eric and Danielle did not let a mere hurricane threaten the joy, peace and happiness of their big day. And there’s incredible photography to prove it! A beautiful adventure for a beautiful couple. Enjoy …

“We literally got married through a hurricane! We had to switch the entire day up and couldn’t even see driving out to our hall! My husband and I decided during cocktail hour that we were going to make the most of it and most of our photos were in the pouring rain- I even went ankle-high in mud just to “get the shot!” To this day, my dress wears the residue of our wedding–from grass stains to mud!” Danielle

Advice you’d like to give

Remember what this day is about–you can’t make every single person happy, but you are marrying the love of your life . . .  and really, that’s all that matters in the end, so treat it that way!

About Zac Thomas

Zac Thomas was amazing! We scouted him online and flew him in all the way from Utah because his work just stunned us! He immediately became one of our best friends and the day would’ve never been the same without him!
