Inspired Style: Feathers & Lace

Jul 19 2011

Feathers and lace just go together- don’t you think? I suppose my renewed interest in lace points to the royal wedding- not to mention that it’s a timeless fabric too. And feathers, well they are just plain dramatic! From peacock and ostrich to boas and more, feathers are fun and eye catching and fabulous for accessorizing a retro look. A cool vintage vibe that’s romantic and sassy at the same time …

What do you think of the feathery look and movement of Antique Filigree- this Tea-length wedding invitation that gently bleeds off the corner of the invite?

Here’s a board with a roaring 20’s feel … but with a bit of a bohemian added for good measure. Imagine the flower girl wearing something like this crocheted beanie- so cute.

Tell me! What are your thoughts for a feathers and lace wedding combo?

  1. I discovered my fondness for feathers a couple of years ago when I was shopping for my wedding dress. I fell in love with a short, strapless dress with a fitted bodice and beautiful soft ostrich feathers on the lower half of the dress! I ultimately went with another choice that I also loved but I still think about that other dress… :)
