  1. The brides father died at age 3…the man walking her down the aisle is as close to a father she has had in the last 5 years…how do I word that Michael Tucker is walking her down the aisle and who he is

  2. Hi Tish,

This is a great question. With regards to wording the invitation, you could say something similar to:

    and Michael Tucker
request the honor of your presence
    at the marriage
    of daughter

Use your Wedding Program to be more specific as to their relationship. Most close to your family and friends will likely know but it will help clarify to those who don’t.

Uncle of the bride, Best friend of the bride’s father, etc.

Best Wishes! Let me know if I can help further!

  3. My sister, Sidnei Pate, passed away 12 years ago. What should I put on the wedding program to honor her?

  4. Hi Tara,
First–I’m sorry to hear about your sister Sidnei. Even after 12 years, it must still be hard. What a beautiful thing to honor her on your wedding program!

    A. What do you think of a simple note of remembrance with something like this:
    1. With love and hope on this special day, we remember Miss Sidnei Pate, sister of the bride.
    B. A quote or passage to honor your sister
    1. With love on this special day in our lives, we dedicate this {quote/special passage} to Miss Sidnei Pate, sister of the bride.

    I hope this helps Tara!
