Anne Hathaway Engaged! Celebrity Save the Date

Categories Wedding Stationery

There’s a mean chill in the air around here, but the love coals are burning bright as ever this season…yes, ‘tis the season to get engaged! And that includes celebrity engagements, too.

One young Hollywood actress has already received an early (and extra sparkly) Christmas gift: Anne Hathaway! As you may have already heard, the talented and lovely Anne recently got engaged to boyfriend Adam Shulman, a fellow actor (and jewelry designer…lucky her!).

Anne Hathaway engagement

As with many celebrity engagements, I can’t help but wonder: What will Anne and Adam’s Save the Date look like?

So, to celebrate another Celebrity Save the Date, I decided to shop around and pluck three Save the Date designs from our collection that I think best reflect Anne and her leading lad.

Vintage Applique

Anne Hathaway is a lady of lace on the red carpet—often wearing wearing a youthful, fresh take on the classic vintage lace gown. That’s why I think she would love this lace-inspired Save the Date design. Plus, it echoes the wedding gown she donned for her breakrole role in The Princess Diaries. To modernize the design, I could see Anne personalizing the colors to something classy, yet modern and sexy—like black, red, and white.

Seamless Charm

Filled with playful elegance and retro charm, this Save the Date design puts a modern spin on vintage beauty—much like Anne Hathaway herself. Whether she’s playing a bright, aspiring journalist (The Devil Wears Prada) or a bold, free spirit battling Parkinson’s disease (Love and Other Drugs), Anne always seems to punctuate her natural beauty and poise with quirky, loveable vigor. And since Anne and Adam have described their relationship as playful and low key, I think the happy couple would love sending this Save the Date to their guests.

Love on Ice

Forget the sunny skies of California: Adam and Anne are native New Yorkers who still love—and live in–the Big Apple. (In fact, it was at Brooklyn’s Fort Greene Park where she was first spotted flashing her engagement ring.) That’s why I can totally envision them having a romantic, yet low key winter wedding in New York City. With a photo of them in Central Park, this cozy little Save the Date would be a great design to reflect their love for the city—and each other.

So, what do you think about these three Save the Date choices for Anne and Adam? Which is your favorite—or, do you have a different design suggestion for the happy bride and groom-to-be? Feel free to share your ideas!

Vintage Remade: Illusion Necklines

Categories Dresses + Fashion

The sheer beauty of the illusion neckline …  another wedding trend offering a nod to the past. Kate rocked a royal one. Audrey Hepburn rocked one at the Oscars. And of course, we’re seeing these lovelies pop up in wedding gowns for spring 2012. Why so popular? I think it’s because the sheer coverage around the neckline, shoulders and arms is sexy yet modest at the same time. And, no sliding like you’d have with a strapless dress. A perfect combination.

What do you think of illusion neckline gowns? Love them or leave them in the past?

Celebrity Save the Date: Kim & Kris

Categories Wedding Stationery

Happy Monday! We’re hearing from our wonderful web & contributing blog writer Rachel…

Love it or hate it, celebrity engagements seem to make the news a lot! And, I have to admit, I enjoy poring over “umpteen” carat rings, designer wedding dresses, extravagant venues and dreamy honeymoon hotspots {sigh}. With big personalities and even bigger budgets, celebrity couple weddings are fun to predict: What will she wear? Who will perform at the reception? Where will they honeymoon?

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries

Here at MagnetStreet, I like to think of another fun question: What would their Save the Date look like? It’s fun to browse designs and find ones that famous couples might choose to personalize. With the recent (May 2011) — and highly publicized — engagement of reality tv star Kim Kardashian to NBA player Kris Humphries, I decided to shop around and find three Save the Date designs that I believe best reflect their celebrity style.

Lovely Leopard Print - MagnetStreet Save the Date

Lovely Leopard Print

Kim and her sisters love to dress up in bold, exotic animal print outfits. Therefore, this leopard-inspired design seems tailor made for Kris and Kim. It’s daring and exotic, yet the whimsical border  for the wording helps to balance out the bold design. However, knowing how much Kim loves the spotlight, she might prefer a photo Save the Date design…

Flower Flourish - MagnetStreet Save the Date

Flower Flourish

Feminine, flirty and fun, this floral Save the Date design would beautifully complement Kim and Kris. The big, one-photo layout would give the famous duo plenty of space to show off their favorite engagement pic — perfect for Kim (ever the paparazzi princess). The gift tag dangling on the end of the flowers adds a playful touch, too. But, if she craves an ever bigger photo feature…

Romantic Ruche - MagnetStreet Save the Date

Romantic Ruche

This trendy Save the Date design is all about the photo — a feature Kim would undoubtedly love. She and her fiance could plaster one large photo across the entire background! The intricate ruche frame around the seal would match Kim’s extravagant taste, while the modern, minimalistic layout would probably appeal to Kris and his more subtle style.

What do you think: Would Kim and Kris like any of these designs? Do you have a better design choice for the celebrity duo? I’d love to hear your ideas!
