Philadelphia Wedding at The Franklin Institute Museum

Categories Real Weddings

Blair and Jon’s wedding took place at the magnificent Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, PA. Blair looked amazing in her tiered gown and cathedral veil. Their pretty lavender and white color scheme was a playful contrast to the grandeur of the marble inside. The wedding ceremony took place in the main entrance of the museum and afterward, everyone headed to the rooftop for cocktails and gorgeous views of the city. The reception took place in the very impressive Benjamin Franklin Memorial Ballroom. Such a splendid venue–and contributing to the romantic ambiance was the low level lighting of purple and blue hues. Enjoy.

Snowy, Mountain Chateau Wedding

Categories Real Weddings

Brittany and Andrew were prepared for the lovely spring snow shower that befell on their wedding day… Brittany donned herself in a winter white cape and she and Andrew headed outdoors for a quick bridal shoot of falling snowflakes and stolen moments. Yes, theirs was a romantic chateau wedding in the mountains of Estes Park, Colorado. Anchoring their color scheme was pink and purple, lavender and cream–with the most gorgeous orchid and rose bouquets. We have Dreamtime Images to thank for capturing this event with such a keen eye for color and meaningful moments.

Enjoy.

Marta and Greg’s Rustic New England Wedding

Categories Real Weddings + Wedding Stationery

We have an oh-so-lovely wedding for you today! Marta and Greg were married in a beautiful, historic church and the weather could not have cooperated more for their May wedding. Their sweet setting included a clear blue sky, blossoming cherry trees and tulips in full bloom. Adding to the pretty was Marta–who looked absolutely exquisite in her Maggie Sottero “Quinlynn” wedding gown. Surrounded by supportive family and friends, their big day was lovely indeed. Enjoy as Marta shares highlights and savvy wedding day advice.

What were a few highlights from your big day?
Oh my gosh I really can’t pick just a few… the whole day was perfect (I know it sounds cliche).

  • We got so lucky with the weather, it being the beginning of May, it ended up being perfect.
  • Our ceremony was pretty important and the party after was great.
  • It was amazing to be surrounded by everyone we love… and know that they were all there because of us!

What advice are you glad you took?
“Don’t stress about the little things because in the end they don’t matter and people won’t notice” I was also told that I would be the only one looking at everything really closely (I made our invitations and cake topper… I knew they weren’t 100% perfect but others probably didn’t notice.)

What advice would you like to give?
Remember that it’s your day–stay true to what you and your fiance want. Many people will give you advice on everything … listen and smile but in the end, do what’s right for you (but at the same time, be open to what others say, as you might actually like their ideas/perspective.)

What was the best part of the whole wedding day?
Getting to say “I have a husband” and “I’m a wife”.

Dress Swoon
I absolutely looooooove my Maggie Sottero “Quinlynn”dress! I actually first saw it online and fell in love with it. I had to call a number of stores around CT to locate it and try it on. I was afraid I wouldn’t like it once I put it on, but I loved it! I didn’t want to take it off (which I took as a sign that it was the one).

Just For You Floral Design
Jane did phenomenal job with the flowers, the staff at the reception venue were great (very helpful and attentive all night),

Hair & Makeup: Lisa Bifolck
Lisa and her girls did such a great job with our hair and make up! I kept getting compliments all night!

MagnetStreet Weddings
We loved the design tool! I did my research when it came to ordering our save the dates and thank you cards and MagnetStreet was by far the easiest and most customizable option.

Color Monday: Soft and Summery

Categories Inspiration

Hello Color Monday!

Even though the fall season is soon to be upon us, we’re hanging on to the warmth of summer and the sweetness of the lighter color palettes that go with it. Today’s palette includes: watermelon, flamingo, sherbet, lemonade and lime. Light and fresh, these punchy mid-tones are sure to give your wedding look an artsy touch. Stir in some DIY signage and parasol props {btw, don’t miss this DIY post that features a ton of parasols, hand-painted with cute messaging} and voila: super fun look and feel.

The featured wedding Thank You Card design in this board comes from the Square Motif Stationery Suite. The formality of the damask pattern in the squares is gently tempered with the light, casual feel of these playful colors.

Tell us, what are your wedding colors?
