Firefighter Wedding: Inspiration to Ignite Your Theme

Categories Inspiration + Wedding Stationery

The weather is finally warming up! To celebrate, we’re heating up the blog with some firefighter wedding inspiration today. If you or your sweetie are one of the brave souls who walk through fire to save others, let me first say: thank you. You are so brave.

Finding sweet and subtle touches to weave your firefighting career into your wedding day is a beautiful way to celebrate and honor the valiant work you do. Below are just a few firefighter wedding ideas to spark your creativity.

One easy idea? Firefighter wedding cake toppers. Whether you go cutesy (little birdies) or classic (bride and groom), cake toppers are a fun way to fire up the theme. Firefighter hats and toy trucks are some more iconic, yet subtle touches to honor this noble career. For the ultra romantic, carve out some time with your photographer to take wedding photos while donning your (or your partner’s) firefighter uniform. Heart-melting, indeed!

You can also add some sizzle to your wedding stationery, such as a firefighter themed wedding invitation, as shown in the inspiration board below. This design can even be personalized to match your hair, skin, and wedding color scheme. Pretty neat! Whatever you do, have fun finding ways to ignite your wedding with firefighter touches.

Hunger Games Wedding Inspiration and Ideas

Categories Inspiration + Wedding Decor + Wedding Stationery

The fans are hungry and ready for their next helping! The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, the highly anticipated sequel to 2011′s The Hunger Games, premieres today nationwide. In celebration of its release, today’s blog post features three fun ways to weave this dystopian story into your wedding stationery, fashion, and decor. Feast your eyes on the loveliness below.

Bow & Arrows
Katniss Everdeen, the heroine of the book and film series, is a skilled archeress whose bow-hunting skills come into play quite often throughout the series. Since bow and arrows also hint at love–and Cupid’s arrow—this theme would be a lovely addition to your wedding day.

There’s so many fun ways to aim at this theme:

  • Arrows “shooting” into your wedding cake
  • Inscriptions on your wedding bands
  • Bow and arrows hung from the ceiling or as table displays

To keep the look light and romantic, you could try a softer color scheme with gilded touches, as illustrated on the inspiration board below. Our Love Arrows stationery suite offers an airy palette that complements this theme very well.

Enchanted Forest
The annual Hunger Games takes place inside a giant arena—a sprawling landscape filled with dense forests, rolling meadows, grassy fields and rushing streams. This woodland panorama lends itself nicely to a rustic, outdoorsy wedding theme.

There’s a bounty of beauty and nature to explore for this theme:

  • Owl/bird feather boutonnieres
  • Twigs, berries, and pine needles
  • Botanical, organic hairpieces
  • Rustic wedding cake or dessert

You could even kick-off your woodsy wedding theme with a tree-laden Save the Date, such as the one pictured below, or another nature-inspired Save the Date design.

Fiery Fashion
If you saw the first film, then you’ll probably remember one of the more striking scenes: Katniss and Peeta, riding into the arena on a chariot, their outfits bursting in flames (literally).  Fire remains a strong theme throughout the series, as evidenced in the name of the sequel, Catching Fire.

Why not heat up your wedding day with some fiery fashion and decor? A simmering palette of reds, oranges, and yellows can ignite this theme, as shown on the inspiration board below. From ombre patterning to roast-your-own s’mores (how fun is that?), there’s a lot of fun ways to turn the heat up on this theme.

Our stationery suite Whispering Feathers stationery suite takes on a fiery twist when personalized in warm red/orange hues, as pictured below.

Rustic Military Styled Wedding Shoot

Categories Inspiration

Although not a national holiday until 1941, Americans have been celebrating Independence Day with family and friends, at picnics and with fireworks, since the American Revolution in 1776. What better way to honor our soldiers and commemorate July 4th, than with a rustic military wedding shoot. Opposites definitely attract, don’t they? Maybe that’s why we love the look of mess dress in a rustic setting.

5 Rustic Military Wedding Ideas:
1. Memorable Moments: Imagine your first look photos taken on an open road under a canopy of trees and filtering light.
2. Viable Venues: Think historic farms and grand old barns.
3. Beautiful Blooms: Large eclectic bouquets and bunches i.e. roses, baby’s breath, peonies, craspedia/billy balls, gerbera daisies.
4. Vintage Decor: From burlap, lace and mason jars, to chalkboard signs, fabric flowers, bunting, flags and a non-traditional red, white and blue color scheme.
5. Wedding Stationery: Browse rustic save the dates and military-themed wedding invitations.
