7 Gorgeous Winter Brides from 2014

Winter weddings are beautiful–and even more so are winter brides! Whether warmed by a shrug, wrap, cardigan or coat, the following 7 winter brides look gorgeous–showing off the season in splendor. Be inspired!

High school sweethearts, Rebecca and Michael had a crisp, sunny day for their snowy mountain wedding in Salt Lake City, UT. Rebecca donned an oversized tan wrap for their outside shots and a lace capelet for the the inside shots. Their color scheme was gold and silver. She makes a stunning winter bride, no?

All it took was one look at Naomi’s mustard-yellow cardigan and Alex’s tweed jacket and we were hooked on their style and charm! Theirs was an intimate wedding–full of sweetness and color. Gotta sec? Check out their DIY touch and alternative to bridesmaid bouquets. Super adorable–and perfect for a winter wedding!

Alex and Emily got almost a foot of snow on their blizzardy East Coast wedding. Emily looked elegant and Old Hollywood glam in her fur coat and with her ladies in wraps. Find lots of great photos in this lovely wedding–including a “surprise” Batman wedding cake.

Smiles all around {especially from our gorgeous winter bride} at Bryan and Megan’s very fun ski resort wedding. But, before saying their “I Do’s” the guys had to do some snowboarding first. Super fun wedding with a bunch of cool guys and lovely ladies.

We fell in love with Zach and Lori’s gorgeous winter wedding at Maumee Bay State Park Lodge in Maumee, OH. Their soft color scheme and creative DIY touches made this winter wedding one of our very favorites!

Two of our favorite highlights from Andrea and Collin’s romantic Christmas wedding at this drop dead gorgeous Pennsylvania estate include the two-story Christmas tree and the non-traditional guestbook made up of Christmas ornaments.

Talk about romantic … Elizabeth and Jordan had an exquisite evening wedding with a candlelit ceremony. They said “I Do” underneath a rustic birch arbor–after walking down a flower-strewn aisle. Elizabeth made such a beautiful winter bride in her fur cape.

{Merry} Christmas Wedding Ideas & Tips

Ah, a Christmas wedding … Whether your temp drops a little or a lot {like us Midwesterners} it really is a lovely time to get married. From color and décor, to favors and flowers, be inspired by the best winter wedding ideas that this wonderful season has to offer. Need Christmas wedding ideas for your big day?

5 Simple Christmas Wedding Ideas:

1. Colors: a palette that pops against a muted landscape is festive & fun.
2. Trimmings: from swags to centerpieces, save big by using simple winter greenery for bouquets & floral décor. Another lovely, romantic and simple decor idea is to arrange miniature white lights {battery operated} inside clear mason jars.
3. Attire: whether you wear a simple scarf or full on cardigans, mittens and boots, these accessories always make great photo ops!
4. Menu: s’more bar, hot chocolate bar, coffee bar, apple pie pops, mini donuts on a stick … think comfort food.
5. Stationery: being a “busy” time of year, be sure to send invites about 12 weeks before your big day. Guests will appreciate the extra notice! Don’t forget to set a romantic and festive tone with your color scheme and wording.

Down to Earth Wedding Inspiration

Dec 19 2014

Down to Earth Wedding Style & Stationery

Happy Friday friends and Happy “Behind the Design!” Ah, today, we’re featuring 2 designs from the Truly, Madly, Deeply design suite. A gorgeous modern suite with a focus on great typography–but here’s Rachel to give us her down to earth wedding inspiration behind this design. What do you think?

I had a down-to-earth-wedding in mind with this design: homey, and with lots of confetti! I loved the idea of having your names big and bold and encircled on the top. The RSVP Card is one of my favorite pieces–try creating your own mad libs as a fun way to get your guests to respond to your wedding invitation! While this design was originally created with a softer muted palette, try using a deep bold color (navy blue) and you could easily set the stage for an evening backyard wedding!
