Sweet Military Beach Engagement Photos

Categories Real Weddings

Our sweet bride-to-be Kaylene flew all the way out to Yokosuka, Japan to see her fiance, Kyle, who is serving in the U.S. Navy. Kyle is stationed about 30 miles southwest of Tokyo–at the U.S. Navy’s Seventh Fleet so why not get their engagement photos taken while she’s out visiting! So, with the Pacific Ocean as their backdrop, they took romantic photos on the beach and on land as well as a few fun shots with Kyle in his Navy uniform. Enjoy this charming engagement session–so many miles away from home.

Onto today’s elegant military wedding …

Married at the scenic Governor’s Club in Chapel Hill, NC, Shawn and Caroline had a dreamy military wedding–beautifully captured by  Amy Allen Photography. Shawn looked dapper in his Marine dress blues and Caroline lovely in her elegant strapless lace dress. The Governor’s Club is a picturesque venue–perfect for this elegant military wedding. A few pretty details we are especially loving are the gold-colored short bridesmaids dresses that coordinate with gold-colored groomsmen ties and those romantic florals of pink and ivory–from the bouquets to the centerpieces on wood rounds. Thanks to Enjoy!

Memorial Day SaleThere’s still time to get 20% off your Wedding Stationery at MagnetStreet! Code: WEMEM20. Exp. 5/27/14.

Andrea and Davis went for colorful and comfortable for their engagement session. They also wanted to emphasize Davis’ military background so this adorable California couple went to Lyon’s Air Museum to have their engagement pictures taken. They also wandered about The Lab in Costa Mesa for more fun and relaxed shots, too! So with the planes, map and artifacts in the background, we just love the clarity and crisp colors that Lisa Marie Figueroa Photography captured in these photos. Enjoy!

Behind the Design: Rustic Military Wedding

Categories Inspiration + Wedding Stationery

We’re closing the week with a “Behind the Design” that celebrates a rustic military wedding wedding. Setting the tone for today’s inspiration is Rustic Military, a Foldover Pocket Wedding Invitation design that features iconic military symbols in a rugged and unique way. Here’s graphic designer, Megan, to tell us about her design and the inspiration behind it.

“Weddings blend two personalities together and often times, meld two different design styles. While many military weddings have a very classic formal wedding feel, there are also those that may desire to have a more rustic and playful feel. This rustic design features elements that are roughed, slightly askewed, and intermingled with playful word choices. Providing thoughtful nods to the armed forces, it’s a design to set the tone for a rustic military wedding.”

Tell us, what do you think of this unique and rustic military design?
