E-session: Nalie and Nate

Categories Inspiration

What do you get when you put a cute couple on “Gateway Trail” on a Minnesota fall day?

A Nalie and Nate engagement session that makes you smile!

Why here? Nalie said “We often walk the trail when it’s nice out and we have a little time to spend together. We’ve had many great walks and explorations on this trail. Plus I knew the trees would look beautiful on the trail with all the fall colors. My sister Hlee is a talented photographer so she was the main photographer. She had another digital camera that allowed my sister Vickie to capture some more candid angles.”

“We wanted a few images for our Save the Date, however we kept pushing the date back and back. It just happened to be a nice day and we had just about an hour where we were all free.”

“We took tons of shots. There happened to be a moment where Nate was dragging me around just being playful. It turned out great for the design for the Save the Date we ended up choosing.”

{Nate & Nalie’s Save the Dates just came} I’ll reveal next week… They. are. COOL!}

“Nate and I both hate taking pictures! Somehow when we get in front of the camera, we forget how to smile naturally. To add to that, my eyes are camera shy, they always end up closed! So it was a little nerve-racking.”

I made an effort to try and have a regular conversation with him so he’d relax because he was feeling silly posing with my sisters watching…so cute! We definitely like the idea of candid pictures versus us posing with fake smiles.”

“I’m glad we decided to have this practice session. It gave us a glimpse of what to expect on the big day where there will be many more cameras and many more people looking and trying to get us to pose!

I Will have to work on keeping my eyes open!”

so. adorable.

Happy Friday Everyone!

Real Wedding: Kerry and Jan

Categories Resources

Location: Private estate, Paso Robles, CA

Sent over by Jonathan Roberts of Blue Photo, I was thrilled to see this romantic and elegant wedding waiting for me in my inbox! What a lovely present… And, what makes it even more special is what Jonathan has to say about the couple.  He “got” Jan and Kerry’s wedding day vision and then went on to capture it.  How perfectly important for your photographer to “get” you! Well done!

Via Jonathan… “Jan and Kerry were determined to keep their wedding their own and a reflection of who they are. The wedding took place at a private villa (which they rented for the week prior to their wedding) in Paso Robles, California. The pink and white colors were very romantic. The cake was simple and elegant at the same time. The images show the vast acreage around the estate and gives a great sense of what Kerry and Jan had envisioned for their wedding. I was very proud to be selected to document this intimate wedding. Kerry and Jan are an incredible couple and this wedding stands out in my mind.”

Gorgeous. Check out the rest of the beautiful images on Jonathan’s blog. Thanks for sharing Jonathan. And, a warm congratulations to Jan and Kerry!

From Here to Eternity…

LOVE this fun engagement session with Jamie and Tommy.  Such an adorable couple and apparently they’re movie buffs too… inspiration for the first shot. Love it!

Although they reside in Pennsylvania, this New Jersey beach holds special memories for Jamie and Tommy~ making a perfect spot for their e-session.

Wanda from Wanda June Koch Photography is the intuitive photographer behind this laid-back session.  It really has such a natural, comfortable feel to it…

Awww, nuthin but fun in the sun!

So sweet!

From here to eternity…could there be a more perfect theme?

Thanks Wanda!  And, Congratulations Jamie and Tommy!!

Trash the Dress: Maria and Peter

Oh~ I’m sooo glad you’re here… You’re just in time to check out the visual buffet I’ve set before you on the blog today!  A Trash the Dress session.  Shot by Gwen, the super talent behind Gwen Tundermann Photography this session is a veritable feast of color and oceanic awesomeness!

It’s a true story…  1. about a gorgeous DC couple who traverse from DC to Key West, Florida to Trash the Dress AND 2. that Maria gifted Peter with this session AND kept it a surprise!

Rolling with the tide, is definitely love and romance.  On the set: A hot couple. A wide ocean. Florida sky.  Florida sunshine.  White sand.   In my mind, the word vivid directly follows steamy!  Perhaps… “wildly beautiful” is a fine set of adjectives to describe these pics!

Congratulations Gwen!  Thank you for sharing your talent on Truly Engaging.  Congratulations Maria and Peter!  I can see you had a blast and felt comfortable in front of the camera and you look beautiful!!  {i’m so curious tho… how’d you do pull the surprise off? What were Peter’s reactions? ahhh}

And yes, there are MORE where these pics came from… check out ALL of the photos from this session at Gwen’s blog here. Enjoy!

As always, I so appreciate your presence on this blog and please know that your comments make my day for sure… feel free to make some noise and let me know you’re here!
