Pretty Coral and Peach Winery Wedding

Categories Real Weddings + Wedding Stationery

We’re simply smitten with Vanessa and Julian’s exquisite winery wedding … the colors, the ambiance, the rustic elegance! Vanessa said, “We wanted our wedding to be romantic, fun and to highlight the natural beauty of Napa Valley. We picked Napa because I wanted it to be gorgeous on its own and with good wine and good food–it’s the total package.” Complementing the rustic beauty of the winery and playing off of Vanessa’s favorite flower–coral peonies–theirs was a loose and flowing color palette. Vanessa looked absolutely stunning in her David Tutera {for Mon Cheri} gown and colorful Kate Spade royal blue flats. Her maids wore coral and peach dresses while Julian and the groomsmen wore gray tuxedos with navy ties. Enjoy this gorgeous Napa Valley winery wedding from Jonathan Young Weddings.

Highlights from the day …
Seeing my now husband as I walked down the aisle is something I’ll never forget. The Napa hills in the background and the gorgeous winery also took the romance to a new level. Then, getting to dance the night away with my friends and family was the icing on the cake. It was the best party I’ve ever been to!

Advice well taken …
To enjoy the day! There were inevitable bumps in the road throughout the day but all those things paled in comparison to the joy of having all my closest friends and family with me and getting to marry my best friend.

Advice to share …
Dream big! We considered many other options for the location of our wedding to better accommodate our guests. In the end, our dream wedding was in Napa, so we went with it and we are so glad we did. You only get one wedding; go for your dream.

The best part of the whole wedding day …
I’d say my two favorite moments were exchanging vows and celebrating on the dance floor all night long.

Reception décor
Decorated with a mix of clear vases and gold mason jars, the long rectangular reception tables popped with beauty and color–thanks to Vanessa’s mom who did the design and arrangement.

How to Carry Your Wedding Colors

Categories Inspiration + Wedding Stationery

Creating Color Flow Throughout Your Wedding

Your wedding colors are important! And what makes them so important is that they are instrumental in creating the mood you want. Carrying your colors to essential focal points will bring a sense of balance and continuity to your overall wedding look. Whether your style is rustic, regal, or somewhere in between, your colors will help you achieve that certain quality and tone to each facet of your wedding–from the ceremony to the reception. A wedding color scheme typically has 2-3 primary colors and 1-2 accent colors. Need somewhere to start? Discover combos in our color theory guide, and check out the latest color trends, as well as browse color inspiration boards for season and mood.

5 Focal Points in which to Carry Your Colors

1. Wedding Stationery

Save the Dates | Invite + Suite Items | Programs | Favors | Thank Yous

The first indication of your wedding style is seen through your stationery–with your colors being the centerpiece of the design. Set the tone and carry your colors to each piece in your suite.

2. Wedding Attire

From a wedding sash and hairpiece to bridesmaid dresses and groomsmen ties, it’s really fun to see the wedding colors played out in wedding attire for you and your wedding party. And while it’s typically the bridesmaid dresses that carry the primary color, feel free to mix it up with fun ties for the guys, unique socks and non-floral boutonnieres.

3. Ceremony Décor + Florals

Whether you go simple or sophisticated, the ceremony is a lovely place to show off your color scheme. From ribbons to florals, carry your colors and style down the aisle.

4. Reception Décor + Florals

From table linens and candles, to glassware, centerpieces and containers, carry your colors in unique and varied ways. Get creative as a little color goes a long way. Similar to this square glass cube vase filled with a variety of beautiful orange flowers, get a little monochromatic with a mixtures of textures and shades. This variety brings visual interest and a unique perspective to your color scheme.

5. Natural Surroundings

What easier (and least expensive) way to carry your colors and enhance the mood and look than by borrowing from the beauty that nature so readily provides. From blooming rose gardens to tree canopied walkways, lean on nature’s landscape to enhance the mood and bring drama to your setting.
