Rustic Save the Date and E-Shoot in the Woods

Categories Real Weddings + Wedding Stationery

With its inherent sense of calm and muted color schemes, winter is truly a lovely time of year to have an engagement session! The raw beauty and neutral tones of the surroundings help to keep the focus on the couple–and that is exactly why we are in love with Rachel and Joe’s wintry engagement photos in the woods! Our lovely bride-to-be also happens to be part of our MagnetStreet family! Rachel is a graphic designer {check out some of her designs here}. Without further ado, here is Rachel and Joe’s rustic Save the Date and snowy e-sesh in the woods.

“We are an outdoorsy couple and hiking and hanging out in the woods is just our style.” Rachel

About their rustic Save the Date
“I designed our save the dates and had them printed by MagnetStreet. Being a designer, it’s often hard to design for yourself. I had ideas of where I wanted to go with our stationery, but it wasn’t until I saw the pictures Emily took that everything just fell into place! My fiancé comes from a large family of hunters and I wanted to incorporate antlers into the design. We will carry this rustic, organic theme throughout the rest of our wedding stationery and into our wedding. We are going for a simple yet elegant wedding that really represents us.”

About Emily Schmidt Photography
“Emily is great and she’s been so awesome to work with!! I sent her a mood board of the style we were going for and she was able to really bring our vision to life. It was snowy and a little chilly when we did our pictures, but she made it work and we are so happy with them. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with for our wedding this September.”

New England Winter Wedding And A Batman Cake

Categories Real Weddings

March in Minnesota:  in like a lion and out like a lion too! That said, we have one more winter wedding for you and this one from Kristin Griffin Photography is chocked full of great photo ops and sweet sentiments. Alex and Emily had a gorgeous indoor February wedding in New England where blizzard conditions dropped almost a foot of snow on their big day. Oh, and Emily’s family is from Florida.

There’s just so much to love about this magical winter wedding–from their royal blue color scheme to Emily’s creative wedding cake surprise for Alex. Enjoy!

Emily’s “Something Old”

The rosary beads hanging from Emily’s bouquet belonged to Alex’s great grandmother. Alex’s grandmother placed them in Emily’s bouquet. Emily said, “It was my something old, and it meant a lot to me.”

In Memory

Alex has two grandfathers that have passed, and we felt it was important to include them. We had a memorial candle for each, and a photo of each of them in frames on reserved seats.

Favorite Moment of the Day

Emily said, “Alex came with me to the original cake tasting and designing, but I decided to surprise him with a creative change. Rather than a simple white wedding cake, I had the baker make a half-and-half cake. One side is the original design, the other is a batman cake! As soon as the ceremony was over, I took Alex by the hand and led him to the cake. He saw the back (the traditional cake) and smiled saying how great it looked, then I brought him around to the other side and his reaction was priceless! I’ve never been so excited to spill a secret! Seeing how happy a simple change made Alex was my favorite moment of the day!”

Winter Destination Wedding with Candlelit Ceremony

Categories Real Weddings

We have another intimate style winter destination wedding for you today–this time at the impressive Empire Canyon Lodge of Deer Valley Resort in Park City, Utah. Elizabeth and Jordan had an exquisite evening wedding with a candlelit ceremony. Warm and romantic, their candle and flower-strewn aisle led to a rustic birch arbor in which to say “I Do”.  Elizabeth wore a raw silk, modified trumpet gown with a chapel train that featured hand-made flowers along the bottom edge. The guys were in black tuxedos and the ladies in floor length black gowns.

Such ambiance! From this beautiful place to the warm glows, hot toddy bar and a pup named “Bella”, we simply adore this elegant, romantic, destination wedding!  Enjoy…

Bound with a brooch, Elizabeth carried a beautiful bouquet of ivory peonies, ranunculus, anemone, antique champagne garden roses, and ivory parrot tulips while her gals carried smaller versions with bronze accents.

The bridal cake was a three-tier Italian Cream Cake that featured fanciful birds for their topper and trailing floral rosettes {similar to  the appliques on Elizabeth’s dress}. The groom’s cake mimicked Jordan’s love of: Reese’s peanut butter cups, Auburn {his alma mater} and his white pick-up truck and trademark cowboy boots. So fun!

Intimate Winter Wedding + Snowboarding Groomsmen

Categories Real Weddings

We have a gorgeous and intimate winter wedding for you today from Will Pursell Photography. Bryan and Megan said their “I Do’s” at a ski resort in the mountain escape that is Whistler, British Columbia. To kick off the day’s festivities and add to the excitement, Bryan and his merry groomsmen went snowboarding–good thing they’ve got skills! And Megan looked so beautiful in her lace, dropped waist mermaid gown while her bridesmaids looked lovely in silver. It was truly a magical day that even ended with a horse-drawn sleigh. So fun!

Enjoy.
