Watching Him as He Watches Her

Categories Inspiration

Albeit a little late, I finally saw 27 dresses.  The movie where Katherine Heigl is always a bridesmaid and never the bride…  Cute show.  For days, I was singing Benny and the Jets.

Anyways, if you’ve seen the movie, you’ll know what I’m referring to… the two main characters, Jane and Kevin realize that their favorite part of a wedding is the same…when the bride is walking down the aisle to her groom.  When everyone else’s eyes are on the bride, Jane and Kevin turn to look at the eyes of the groom as he watches his bride come forward.  At his love, his hope, his anticipation… So sweet!

It’s summer.  Undoubtedly, if you haven’t been to a wedding yet this season, you will be soon (if not 2 or 3).  What’s your favorite part of the wedding ceremony?

Where do you look as the bride walks down the aisle?

I recently saw the movie 27 dresses too! I just attended a wedding this past weekend so I decided to watch the groom and not the bride ( although I had to take a quick peek since she was so beautiful!). He looked so proud and the anticipation on his face was very sweet and enlightening. The groom was just on leave from the Marines and he was wearing his dress blues. What must have been going through his mind when he was watching his beautiful bride, one can only imagine, but it was great to watch!

Weird. Me and the fiancee just watched that last weekend! She liked it; me, not so much. I like the communal feeling of relief post-kiss…

I always love seeing the bride’s face when she begins her walk, and then looking immediately up at the groom to see his reaction.

@ Engaged Guy: It’s more of a chick flick” I suppose. “Communal feeling of relief post-kiss” I like that…

@Kristin: I usually just focus on the bride. I’ll be paying closer attention to the groom from now on.
