We just got engaged and I already have planning on the brain… he wants us to enjoy our engagement a little before we make any definite decisions, so we’re waiting until after the holiday’s to start planning for the wedding officially. I’m trying to pre-occupy my time by planning an engagement party, set up an engagement session, and announce our engagement in the paper.

We had about 7 weeks to plan the wedding and my then FH is rather slow with decisions … but he wanted to be involved in as much as possible. For us it was just knowing one another well enough to know when to discuss and when to just act…flowers would be a really good example. His eyes would have literally rolled backward had he been with me at the florist!

And, yes, like you said, it is about knowing and trusting one another’s taste. The longer we are married now, the more freedom we both extend and possess. We both love compromise, so it just keeps getting better and better!

I was in the same boat as Lisa, I mainly did all the design work and everything that included such detail that only I would notice, like putting the exact number of jellybeans in the jars and tying the perfect bow for our favors while he took care of the honeymoon and making sure HIS friends were on top of their tuxes.

We used each other’s strengths to decide who would take the lead. I was in charge of the DIY projects and stationery design, he was in charge of planning the honeymoon and gathering photos and music for the ceremony and reception. It all worked out pretty easily!

I am definitely discovering that he’s totally ok with me making most of the decisions…but I still like to ask him still But as he says “If it really matters to me, you’ll know.”
