What is a security code?

Your Card Security Code is a 3 or 4 digit number on the back (or top-right for American Express) of your credit card. It is used to prove to the the merchant that you are in possession of the card and did not acquire the credit card number by any other method. Your Card Security Code is never recorded by our systems after we process your card.
