Rustic Organic Wedding with Romantic Florals

Rustic Organic Wedding Softened with Romantic Florals

Our beautiful real wedding today features another from our MagnetStreet family. We are thrilled to bring you Josh and Jen's rustic organic wedding--so beautifully curated with an eclectic color palette, romantic florals, and the natural splendor of fall in Minnesota. Josh and Jen were married at The Woods Chapel, a unique venue befitting of a rustic fairy tale wedding such as theirs. Each gorgeous photo radiates with a purity of emotion, sweetness and joy! Jen made an exquisite bride and being graphic designer, used her talents and creativity to set the tone by custom designing an invitation suite to perfectly complement their rustic yet soft wedding style. About their color scheme, Jen said "We didn’t want one or two colors to drive our wedding but instead a grouping of colors to create a romantic, organic feel." Enjoy as both Jen and Josh share sweet advice and special highlights from their big day. I loved getting to see Jen for our first look. I was really excited, and with all the 'build-up' of the morning, I was so ready to see her. With that, seeing Jen’s happiness. I loved seeing her smile- so overjoyed throughout the entire day. Next was taking our vows. I'd been so ready for it, so looking each other in the eyes and committing our lives to each other was the best. Lastly, our reception. It meant a lot to have so many family and friends together and watching them get to know one another. We had a live band with a ton of energy; dancing with Jen with very little self-awareness or awareness of other people is something I'll remember. I designed our Wedding Invitations, Programs, Direction Cards, Table Numbers, Place Cards, and Thank Yous and had them printed here at MagnetStreet. After doing invitations for so many other couples, it was really fun to finally design my own. I hand painted all of the watercolor artwork and then scanned it into the computer to carry it through each piece. I loved getting to paint and be creative and watch it all come together. Josh wasn’t gushing over the flowers as I was, but he loved watching me do something that I loved and express myself artistically. Our Wedding Invitations were the first look for our guests into our soft, romantic wedding style. I loved every minute that I spent next to Josh. One of my favorites was when we read our vows to one another. We wrote our own, and they were really meaningful to us. I loved entering into that covenant under God and committing my life to Josh. It was comforting knowing that we really meant forever. I remember how overjoyed I felt as he ended his vows: "I give you my deepest love, my fullest devotion, my most tender care. You are my beloved and most precious treasure. I pledge to you my life as a loving and faithful husband. Before God and these witnesses, I joyfully enter into this covenant with you." {from Josh} ... It was great knowing, feeling, seeing, and fully believing that God was taking pleasure in us taking vows. I loved committing my life to a woman who is trustworthy, humble, hilarious, and who trusts God and trusts me. Groom reciting wedding vowsAdvice we would like to give {from Jen} ... Support each other through the planning and focus first on your relationship. We planned our wedding in three and a half months, so it was a bit of a whirlwind. Josh loved and supported me so well through all of the planning. He helped in any way he could, showed me patience when I was stressed and frazzled, and held me when I was overwhelmed and in tears. {from Josh} ... Take the commitment of marriage seriously. Trust is fragile. As a man, work at finding joy by giving her joy and working for her happiness. Make regular attempts to not take yourselves too seriously. Initiate. Cherish her. Take responsibility. Bride and Groom being prayed over during wedding ceremonywedding flowers and wedding ringsThe décor ... I embarked on a lot of DIY projects for our wedding. It was a lot of work, but I’m glad I was able to do it. I loved starting with an empty slate in our reception tent and getting to fill it with all of the dream projects swirling around in my head. One of my favorites is a big floral piece that I built on an antique ladder and hung behind the head table in the reception tent. I also collected glass bottles and tin cans from friends and coworkers and spray painted them gold and bronze to turn them into vases.
