Color Monday: Winter Wedding

Winter Wedding Ideas, Colors & Inspiration

Welcome to Color Monday--our weekly blog series devoted to inspiring you with beautiful mood boards and color combinations to help you create your own exceptional wedding color palette.

<Sigh> Winter weddings can be so beautiful, can't they? Gently falling snow, pine cones, winter greenery, twinkling lights, cardigans and carriages--all iconic for delivering a romantic winter wedding look and feel. Marrying a rustic vibe with seasonal elegance, today's mood board reflects a non-traditional winter wedding palette. Earthy yet playful, this grayish green lies in perfect harmony alongside the charcoal gray and metallic gold. And carrying this sweet lively palette to Botanical Bliss floral invitation design is a fun and unexpected combo for a winter wedding. Your guests will love it!

I am aiming to do these colors for my December 2015 wedding, but am wonder where you would do the pops of white - guys shirts only? Table cloths or do those ivory? There's such a beautiful collection of colors that I worry if you do them wrong, it might look confusing.

Hi Amie! Congrats on your upcoming winter wedding--enchanting! This palette is indeed pretty--warm and cool at the same time. Because of that, you have flexibility in where to position your winter white or ivory for something like the guys shirts, table linens, stationery, within the bouquets.... I love the idea of the guys in off-white shirts paired with charcoal suits--clean and classy. Because of the warm tones in this palette, the only thing I would caution against is using a stark white. Best wishes Amie!

Hi Rochelle! Thanks for stopping by. Congrats on your upcoming wedding. A Martha's Vineyard September wedding sound a-mazing! I asked Megan (the graphic designer who curated this board) to comment on your questions. Megan said, "I think our blush would look really pretty with this. Another possibility is a custom pink and custom green." Rochelle--here are CMYK values for creating custom palette/colors using our editing tool. You can even get the swatches printed (for free) here: New palette: Our Blush | Grayed-like jade- C-38, M-10, Y-29, K-7 | Blue-gray: C-13, M-0, Y-10, K-7 | Custom Pink: C-0, M-30, Y-15, K-0 Congrats & good luck!

I love this palette! Any recommendations for a nice blush tone as well as another tone of jaded grey that could work? I'm getting married in September in Martha's Vineyard and would love to create my color palette here!
